Cibola Senior Caius Lastra Signs to Run at Central Arizona College
Cibola senior Caius Lastra signed his letter of intent Monday inside the Raiders' school library to run cross country and track for Central Arizona College's Vaqueros.

Caius Lastra sat inside Cibola High School's library Monday afternoon and signed his letter of intent to run cross country and track at Central Arizona College, capping a senior year that followed what the Yuma Sun described as a breakout 2024 season in which he served as the Raiders' top runner and program standard-bearer.
Lastra will compete for the Central Arizona Vaqueros, who run in the Arizona Community College Athletic Conference, with the school's Facebook page confirming his participation begins in Fall 2026.
The signing drew coverage from KYMA, NBC 11 Sports, and the Yuma Sun, reflecting the local attention Lastra built during his time leading Cibola's distance program. NBC 11 Sports framed his move simply: the Raiders' track and cross country star is taking his talent to the next level.
Despite the recognition that came with a standout final prep season, the Yuma Sun noted that Lastra "still found himself with more to prove" heading into his collegiate career, a detail that suggests the Central Arizona commitment is less a culmination than a starting point for the Cibola senior.
Central Arizona College, based in Coolidge, Arizona, fields programs across multiple sports within the Arizona Community College Athletic Conference. Lastra joins a program that will put him on the cross country course in the fall and the track in the seasons that follow.
