Eighth Annual Fisher’s Landing Rib Cook-Off to Benefit Amberly’s Place Feb. 28
Fisher’s Landing Resort will host its eighth annual rib cook-off at Martinez Lake, noon–5 p.m. Feb. 28, with proceeds to benefit Amberly’s Place and a $2,000 grand prize on the line.

Fisher’s Landing Resort will stage the Eighth Annual Rib Cook-Off at Martinez Lake on Saturday, Feb. 28, running noon to 5 p.m. at 10882 N. Fishers Landing Rd, Yuma, AZ 85365, with proceeds designated to benefit Amberly’s Place. Organizers say the event combines competition, family activities and fundraising on the Lower Colorado River shoreline.
Attendees will be able to taste and judge ribs from more than ten competing teams, and the first-place winner will receive a $2,000 prize while second- and third-place finishers will receive other cash awards, KYMA reported. The cook-off is scheduled for five hours, matching the AllEvents listing that highlights a 12:00–5:00 p.m. time window for the festival.
“This is an event that you can come out and you can taste the actual ribs from each team and it's a $20 donation to Amberly's, and we have kids zone. We have raffle prizes, we have t-shirts for sale, and we got the Colorado River,” Scott Anderson, associate manager of Fisher’s Landing, told KYMA. Anderson’s comments frame both the fundraising mechanism and the family-friendly additions organizers expect to run alongside the cooking competition.
Fisher’s Landing’s Instagram post promotes ticket inclusions differently, stating, “1 ticket includes your choice of 10 ribs or side Fisher's Landing Resort Rib Cook-Off SATURDAY FEB 28, 2026 ALL PROCEEDS GO TO AMBERLY'S.” The resort’s social copy does not list a price, and KYMA’s reporting attributes a $20 donation figure to Anderson; the resort has not explicitly linked the Instagram ticket wording to the $20 donation in its social posts.
The resort’s website and event calendar place the cook-off within Fisher’s Landing’s Colorado River setting, listing on-site amenities such as the Rio Loco Bar & Grill, a General Store, boating on the Lower Colorado River, and proximity to Ferguson Lake and Martinez Lake for fishing and watersports. AllEvents and the resort site identify the location as on the Lower Colorado River just above Imperial Dam and encourage visitors to consult the resort’s Event Calendar for entertainment and logistics.
Fisher’s Landing’s Facebook event post captures the promotional tone with, “Annual Rib Cook-Off February 28th ⏰ 12PM – 5PM Fisher's Landing Resort If you LOVE ribs… this one's for you!” Organizers say proceeds will support Amberly’s Place; ticketing and sale logistics remain described on social posts and the AllEvents listing, which currently offers a “Notify me” option for updates rather than a public sales link.
