Healing Journey Nonprofit Hosts Havana Nights Gala April 17 in Yuma
The Healing Journey marks 15 years serving Yuma trauma survivors with a $75-per-ticket Havana Nights Gala on April 17 at Paradise Casino.

A Yuma nonprofit that has spent 15 years providing trauma therapy to domestic violence survivors, abused children, and sexually trafficked youth will mark the milestone with a fundraising gala April 17 at Paradise Casino.
The Healing Journey will host the Havana Nights Gala at the Paradise Casino event center, 450 Quechan Drive, with doors open for a Cuban-themed evening that includes dinner, live music, and a silent auction. Tickets are $75.
Founded by CEO Estrella Fitch, The Healing Journey operates as a licensed counseling agency under the Arizona Department of Health. Its programs reach trauma survivors across southern Yuma County and into Somerton, San Luis, and the Cocopah Indian Reservation. Services include individual therapy, case management, life skills education, and mentoring, along with three structured support groups: Girls United, Women's Empowerment, and a Boys Group. The organization also runs programming inside Yuma's Juvenile Justice Center, offering life skills training to youth navigating the county's justice system.

Proceeds from the April 17 gala fund those direct services. The Healing Journey holds Qualified Charitable Organization status with the state of Arizona, meaning donations from Arizona residents can qualify for a dollar-for-dollar state tax credit of up to $400 for single filers or $800 for those filing jointly.
The silent auction offers attendees a secondary way to support the organization beyond the ticket price. Local businesses seeking sponsor recognition at the event can reach The Healing Journey through thehealingjourneyyuma.org before April 17.
