Helping Hands of Yuma Super Yard Sale Fundraiser Features 1,500 Tables
More than 1,500 tables and racks filled 20-plus departments when Helping Hands of Yuma held its Super Yard Sale Fundraiser this past weekend.

More than 1,500 tables and racks spread across over 20 departments when Helping Hands of Yuma staged its Super Yard Sale Fundraiser at 12716 North Frontage Road on March 13 and 14, running each day from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. next to Gila Mountain United Methodist Church.
The two-day sale organized merchandise into more than 20 distinct "departments," with appliances, furniture, and clothing among the categories shoppers could browse. The sheer scale of the setup, more than 1,500 individual tables and racks, transformed the North Frontage Road site into one of the largest single-weekend community sales the nonprofit has mounted.
Helping Hands of Yuma has been a fixture of senior support in the county since founder Lucille Arnold-Harris launched the organization in 1995, recognizing that many local seniors needed assistance to continue living independently. The group received its 501(c)(3) status the following year and has grown steadily since. According to the organization, it now serves more than 650 seniors annually, with volunteers collectively contributing over 20,000 service hours, driving more than 76,000 miles, and delivering over 6,000 individual services each year.

The yard sale serves as a key fundraising mechanism for sustaining that work. Proceeds support the nonprofit's ongoing mission to the county's underserved senior population.
