Hunter's Army Celebrates Fifth Anniversary to Fight Childhood Cancer in Yuma
Hunter's Army marks five years fighting childhood cancer with a March 28 celebration at Colorado River State Historic Park, where $5 gets you in and free food awaits.

Five years after forming to take on childhood cancer, Hunter's Army is bringing Yuma together at Colorado River State Historic Park on Saturday, March 28, 2026, for a celebration that doubles as a fundraiser. The event runs from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and is presented by FTS Automotive Center.
The afternoon will feature live music from the Chavez Family Band and Jack Jackson, alongside free food, giveaways, and an auction. Admission is $5 per person or $10 per family, making the event accessible for households across Yuma County.
Hunter's Army is a local Yuma nonprofit with a singular focus: raising money to fight childhood cancer. Saturday's milestone event marks the organization's fifth year working toward that goal.

Colorado River State Historic Park is no stranger to community gatherings. The site, which served as a U.S. Army Quartermaster Depot from 1869 to 1884, hosted hundreds of Yuma residents last June for the Army's 250th birthday celebration. Managed by the Yuma Crossing National Heritage Area, the park has become a go-to venue for events that bring the wider community together along the river.
For Hunter's Army, the fifth anniversary marks a moment to build on the momentum of previous years and put more resources toward the fight against one of the most devastating diseases affecting children. The combination of live entertainment, free food, and a low admission price reflects an effort to draw broad participation, since every ticket and auction bid goes toward the cause.
