Motorcyclist, 72, Killed After Striking Truck on S. Avenue D
A 72-year-old man was killed Wednesday morning when his motorcycle slammed into the back of a pickup truck towing a utility trailer on S. Avenue D.

A 72-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene after his motorcycle struck the rear of a Chevrolet Silverado on S. Avenue D early Wednesday morning, the Yuma Police Department said.
Officers responded to the intersection area of S. Avenue D and W. Francis Street at about 6:20 a.m. and found the rider had crashed his black 2023 Honda VT 750 into the back of a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado that was towing a utility trailer. The Silverado was driven by a 26-year-old man and carried three passengers. No other injuries were reported.
"While speed appears to be a factor in the crash, the investigation is ongoing," YPD said.

The motorcyclist had been riding southbound on Avenue D when the collision occurred. Investigators have not released the victim's name.
