One arrested after Yuma home search yields meth, cocaine, Xanax
Officers seized 284 grams of meth and nearly 7 grams of cocaine from a South Virginia Drive home, and one person was arrested before sunrise.

A Yuma County Narcotics Task Force search at a home in the 2500 block of South Virginia Drive ended with one arrest and the reported seizure of 284 grams of methamphetamine, nearly 7 grams of cocaine and 1.4 grams of Xanax bars.
Officers served the warrant Tuesday morning, April 14, at about 6:52 a.m. The task force is made up of Yuma County Sheriff’s Office personnel and Homeland Security Investigations agents, a joint lineup that brings local enforcement and federal investigative resources into the same case.
The search also turned up multiple items of drug paraphernalia, though authorities did not specify what was recovered. The press release did not identify the person arrested or say what charges would be filed.
What stands out in this case is the amount of narcotics reported at a residential address. A seizure of 284 grams of methamphetamine is far beyond a personal-use amount, and the reported cocaine and Xanax bars add to the public-health concerns that come with mixed-drug activity in a neighborhood setting. For nearby residents, the issue is not just criminal enforcement but the risk that comes with drug storage, trafficking and the paraphernalia associated with use and distribution inside a home.
The South Virginia Drive warrant also shows where narcotics work is happening in Yuma County: not only on highways or at the border, but inside ordinary neighborhoods. A coordinated morning operation like this gives the task force a way to move quickly and contain the scene, while also reflecting the priority local and federal officers place on disrupting drug activity before it spreads farther into surrounding blocks.
The case is now expected to move through the normal criminal process as authorities continue their work in Yuma neighborhoods.
