Joe Orduño Park will host the return of the Asado & Brew Festival on April 11, 2026, after the event was sidelined last year due to weather conditions. The festival runs from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. and is recognized for its open-air combination of asado-style food, craft beer, and the participation of grill teams, local and regional breweries, and small business vendors.

The 2025 edition never made it off the ground: rainy conditions forced the City of San Luis to postpone the event, citing the safety of attendees, vendors, and participants. The April 11 date marks the festival's first confirmed return since that cancellation, shifting from its traditional November timing to a spring Saturday at the park's 965 N. Park Avenue address.

The musical lineup includes Downtime, Amigo Bronco, El Tributo, Tiranos del Norte, and Grupo Control, with performances scheduled across the full eight-hour run. Organizers expect more than 30 vendors offering food, drinks, and assorted goods throughout the grounds.

The festival has built a competitive core alongside its food and music programming. The free, family-friendly event features live music from local and regional bands alongside a central asado competition, where participants vie for titles including Best Asado, Best Side Dish, and Best Salsa. At the 2024 edition, the San Luis Police Department took home Best Asado honors, with Sonoran Ranch winning Best Side Dish.

Joe Orduño Park, which includes multiple baseball and softball diamonds, the San Luis Recreation Center, and the city's public pool and aquatic center, has served as the festival's home since its debut. The park hosts several of the city's signature annual events, including its Fourth of July festival and the Spooktacular Carnival.
