San Luis Sidewinders Blank Somerton 10-0, Win Sixth of Seven Games
Obet Zaragoza's wall-rattling triple and Caleb Perez's two-RBI gap shot powered San Luis to a 10-0 six-inning shutout of Somerton on Tuesday.

Obet Zaragoza sent a triple rolling to the outfield wall, Caleb Perez followed with a two-run gap shot, and the San Luis Sidewinders never needed more than six innings to put the Somerton Toros away, 10-0, on Tuesday in San Luis.
The shutout pushed the Sidewinders to 10-2-1 on the season and marked their sixth win in the last seven games, extending one of the stronger early-season runs in Yuma County baseball this spring.
San Luis built a sizable lead before the third inning was finished and kept Somerton's lineup off-balance throughout, extending the margin in the fourth and adding to it again in the fifth. The Zaragoza triple and Perez's gap shot, which came two batters later, pushed the lead to 8-0 at that point, effectively sealing the outcome before the final two runs crossed.
Somerton starter Damian Salas turned in a solid effort on the mound but could not stem a San Luis offense that worked the entire lineup. Strong defense behind the pitching staff contributed to the shutout, with the Sidewinders recording the six-inning mercy-rule finish.

Somerton fell to 4-2 with the loss, a record that still reflects a competitive start to the season despite Tuesday's lopsided result.
San Luis now holds a 10-2-1 mark with considerable season still ahead.
