Yuma Catholic senior Coleton Pouquette signs with Utah Tech football
Yuma Catholic senior Coleton Pouquette signed his letter of intent to play for Utah Tech, listed at 6-3, 255 as a defensive end, and was the only Yuma County player named All-Conference this season.

Coleton Pouquette signed his letter of intent to continue his football career with Utah Tech University at a ceremony held at Yuma Catholic High School, surrounded by family, coaches and teammates. The signing sends the Yuma native to St. George, Utah, where Utah Tech competes at the Division I FCS level and Pouquette is set to enroll this fall.
Utah Tech lists Pouquette on its incoming roster as a defensive end at 6-3 and 255 pounds, with his hometown recorded as Yuma, Ariz., and his previous school as Yuma Catholic HS. Local coverage and school references characterize him differently, with YumaSun identifying Pouquette as Yuma Catholic’s senior offensive tackle and local reporting describing him as an offensive and defensive lineman who played both ways for the Knights.
Pouquette said the commitment capped a yearlong recruiting relationship with the Trailblazers that included camps and multiple visits to the Utah Tech campus. "I think I'm super excited about this coaching staff, first of all," he said. "It's been a year of recruiting with them, going up there and doing a camp, going up there a couple of times on visits and stuff, and they've just welcomed me with open arms. I'm excited to get to work."
He credited a broad support network for getting him to the next level. "It takes a village to get me here and it takes a lot of people," Pouquette said. "I'm super grateful, and there's a lot of wise minds that I’ve picked stuff from, which is why I'm here today." Pouquette specifically named coaches, teachers, faculty members and family as part of that village during the signing at Yuma Catholic.
The move marks a notable local milestone: Pouquette became the only Yuma County high school football player this season to earn All-Conference honors, according to the Arizona Interscholastic Association teams announced in the final weeks of December 2025. A school photo of the signing is credited to Alba Cid/Yuma Catholic, and a social media post from the school congratulated Pouquette on officially signing with Utah Tech.
As he prepares to head to St. George this fall, Pouquette said his goals extend beyond football, even as he focuses on joining Utah Tech’s program. Sources differ on whether he will line up primarily on offense or defense at the college level, but Utah Tech’s roster entry lists him as a defensive end entering the Trailblazers’ signing class.
