Yuma County Workforce Board Schedules Virtual Meeting, Seeks Cybersecurity Assessment Proposals
Yuma's workforce board meets virtually today as its operating arm seeks cybersecurity vendors to audit hardware, software, and firewall gaps.

The Yuma County Workforce Development Board's Executive Committee convened virtually this morning, March 11, 2026, for a one-hour session running from 9:00 a.m. to 9:59 a.m. The board serves as the local governing body responsible for oversight of workforce programs funded under federal and state workforce development grants and initiatives.
The meeting runs parallel to a separate public session of the Educational Opportunity Center Charter High School, which began at 8:00 a.m. on the same date, reflecting a busy morning on Yuma County's public meeting calendar.
Alongside the meeting notice, the Yuma Private Industry Council, Inc. (YPIC), which operates the Yuma County Local Workforce Development Board, issued a formal Request for Proposal seeking vendors to conduct a comprehensive cybersecurity and hardware/software assessment. The RFP calls for cybersecurity and risk mitigation recommendations, a plan to identify observations and issues, and advice on future expectations. The scope also covers a review of hardware and software, anti-virus and malware protections, firewall configurations, and a plan to address any identified gaps.
RFP packets became available beginning June 13, 2025, at YPIC's office at 3834 W 16th Street in Yuma during the hours of 8:00 a.m. to noon or 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Arizona Time. Packets were also posted on ypic.com.

Vendors with questions about the RFP were required to submit them in writing by email no later than June 20, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. Arizona Time, addressed to Alicia Huizar, Contract Manager, at ahuizar@ypic.com. Substantive questions and answers were to be posted on ypic.com by 4:00 p.m. Arizona Time on June 27, 2025.
Looking ahead, the full Yuma County Workforce Development Board is scheduled to meet again on May 13, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., with another session calendared for June 10, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 9:59 a.m. The Yuma County Board of Supervisors holds its next session on March 16, 2026, with a Special Budget Session set for May 5, 2026.
