Yuma High Criminals Rally for 10-4 Win, Stay Perfect in Region Play
Trailing 3-0, the Criminals scored six in the fourth inning at Curley Culp Memorial Stadium to beat Dysart 10-4 and stay unbeaten in region play.

Trailing 3-0 through three innings at Curley Culp Memorial Stadium, the Yuma High Criminals turned the game over in one decisive frame on April 7, erupting for six runs in the bottom of the fourth to hand the Dysart Demons a 10-4 defeat and keep Yuma's all-time record against Dysart perfect.
Thomas Grijalva ignited the surge when his ground ball slipped through the Dysart infield and scored two runs, slicing the deficit in half and shifting the energy inside the stadium. Jackson Gastelum followed with a base hit that drove home the tying run, knotting the score at 3-3. Dysart responded with a pitching change, but it did not slow the Criminals; a passed ball allowed the go-ahead run to score, and Yuma piled on additional runs to build a cushion the Demons never threatened.
The Criminals' rally came despite a sharp defensive play that had briefly kept Dysart's shutout intact earlier in the contest. Senior left fielder Marcos Leyva Garcia fielded a single and delivered a throw to home that cut down a would-be Yuma runner, a play that temporarily checked the Criminals before the fourth inning made it irrelevant.
The victory pushed Yuma High to 9-7-2 on the season while the Criminals held their unblemished record in region play, a combination that carries real weight in the district seeding picture as the schedule narrows toward postseason. Yuma has never lost to Dysart across all all-time meetings, and April 7 kept that mark intact.
A rematch is set for later this week, giving Dysart a quick opportunity to adjust and Yuma a chance to sweep the season series while extending both streaks. With region play tightening and playoff positioning on the line, sustaining that perfect league record is now the defining standard the Criminals are chasing into the final weeks of the spring season.
