Allen Police to Move into $97.1M Century Parkway Headquarters in 2027
Allen police will move into a new $97.1 million headquarters on Century Parkway in early 2027, bringing all operations under one roof and expanding public-facing services.

The Allen Police Department will relocate to a new 103,000-square-foot, three-story headquarters on Century Parkway in early 2027, placing the department between Allen City Hall and the Allen post office. City documents show the project carries a $97.1 million budget and is intended to consolidate scattered offices, improve efficiency and offer new community spaces.
The facility is the product of voter support and municipal budgeting. Allen voters approved an $83 million bond in 2023 that will supply the majority of funds. In June, Allen City Council signed off on a final guaranteed maximum price of $67,710,145, leaving the remainder of the $97.1 million budget to be covered by federal grants, interest earnings and savings, according to city documents.
The new headquarters is designed to serve both department needs and public access. Planned features include a large community room for public events, a spacious lobby with visitor parking at the front of the building, secure parking, and strategically organized workspaces intended to make day-to-day operations smoother for patrol and support staff. The facility will also expand technical capacity with a larger crime scene lab and an expanded property and evidence room.
Assistant Police Chief Kyle Taliaferro said the department outgrew its current facility several years ago as the city expanded, and the move reflects that growth. “I want the community to know how much we appreciate their support,” Taliaferro said. “This was a huge ask.” He noted officers are now spread across several offices and that some personnel have been working in closet-sized spaces; consolidating under one roof is expected to boost both efficiency and morale.

Designers and staff emphasized officer wellness in the building plan. The headquarters will include a human performance center, natural light, new fitness equipment, quiet rooms, lactation rooms and a spacious training room to support ongoing professional development. “We’re estimating that in 30 years, the city will be completely built out,” Taliaferro said, “We will have space to adequately staff our department for that number [of residents].”
For Allen residents, the project aims to be more than an administrative upgrade. A dedicated community room and a more accessible lobby are intended to make the police department a clearer public resource for meetings, outreach and emergency coordination. The consolidation should also speed evidence processing and crime scene work that affect case timelines.
Construction and planning will continue through 2026 into early 2027, with the move scheduled once interior fit-outs and systems are complete. For Collin County neighbors watching Allen’s growth, the new Century Parkway headquarters signals the city’s push to match civic infrastructure with rising population and service demands.
