Animas FFA builds mobile barbecue smoker, named first-ever New Mexico barbecue champions

Animas FFA, the Future Farmers of America chapter representing Animas Public Schools in western Hidalgo County, completed construction of a mobile barbecue smoker and saw the project culminate in recognition as New Mexico's first-ever barbecue champions on Feb. 25, 2026.
