Arizona Western College launches Heart and Healthy Relationships fairs across Yuma County

Arizona Western College’s Health & Wellness team will stage a series of Heart and Healthy Relationships fairs across Yuma County in mid-February, offering booths, vendors and information that link heart health with emotional and relational wellbeing. The series begins Wednesday, Feb. 11 at the AWC Yuma campus 3C Breezeway and continues in Parker and San Luis on Feb. 12 and Feb. 18.

The Yuma Campus fair runs Feb. 11 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the 3C Breezeway. The Parker Community Center event is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 12 from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. The San Luis Learning Center fair takes place Wednesday, Feb. 18 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Organizers say the community is invited to attend and to use the events as an opportunity to learn about physical health, partnerships and mental wellbeing.

Adrienne Noriega, student care coordinator for Arizona Western College, summed up the program’s aim: "It gives the people the opportunity to how everything comes together when it comes to healthy and wellness. Not just physical health it's relationships, partnerships it's our mental wellbeing and how everything it's interconnected." The fairs are timed close to Valentine’s Day to encourage couples and families to consider both cardiac risk factors and the role of healthy relationships in overall wellness.

Arizona Western College points to continuity with past programming; a 2025 fair carried a "Mind Meets Heart" theme, and materials from that event featured community figures promoting heart-health information. The upcoming fairs will host vendor booths and informational resources, though organizers have not published a detailed session schedule or a vendor list.
