Army Land Rover rolls over after car cuts in front on A43 in Northamptonshire
Dashcam footage showed an Army Land Rover Defender and trailer rolling three times on the A43 after a car cut in front, leaving two soldiers badly hurt.

Dashcam footage released by Northamptonshire Police captured the moment an Army Land Rover Defender towing a trailer rolled three times across the A43 dual carriageway near Hulcote after a car cut in front of it while exiting the road.
The crash happened at 8.35am on January 10, 2025, when the military vehicle was travelling in convoy in the inside lane. Police described the collision as “completely avoidable,” and the impact left two soldiers seriously injured as the Land Rover and its trailer flipped across both lanes of the road.
The 36-year-old driver was thrown from the vehicle and suffered a suspected fractured or broken back. He was taken to University Hospital Coventry. The 31-year-old male passenger suffered a significant head injury and was taken to Northampton General Hospital. Both men were described as soldiers injured in the rollover, which unfolded on a busy stretch of the Northamptonshire route.
The driver of the car was Crenguta Aruxandei, 44, of Old Factory Way, Northampton. She was driving an Audi Q2 and later pleaded guilty to two counts of causing serious injury by careless driving. In April 2026, Northampton Crown Court handed her a six-month suspended prison term and a 12-month driving ban. She was also ordered to take an extended driving test before she can regain her licence and to pay a £154 victim surcharge.
Detective Constable Eleanor Hudson of Northamptonshire Police said the collision was completely avoidable and stressed that holding a driving licence is a privilege and responsibility. The case has drawn attention to the hazards that military vehicles with trailers can face on public roads, particularly when another driver cuts across their path or disrupts a convoy’s line.
The facts of the case point to a driving error rather than a mechanical failure. For military road movements, the incident underlined the importance of disciplined lane use, careful merging and convoy awareness, especially on dual carriageways where a sudden manoeuvre can turn a routine journey into a serious rollover with lasting injuries.
