Arttu Hyry Recalled by Dallas; Remi Poirier Loaned to Texas Stars
Dallas recalled 24-year-old Arttu Hyry from the Texas Stars to serve as the fourth-line center against the Seattle Kraken; goaltender Rémi Poirier was loaned back to AHL Texas.

Dallas recalled 24-year-old forward Arttu Hyry from the Texas Stars and simultaneously reassigned goaltender Rémi Poirier back to AHL Texas so the NHL club could ice a full four-line forward group against the Seattle Kraken. The recall was announced in a Dallas Stars release datelined FRISCO, Texas and was confirmed by the Texas Stars and ProHockeyRumors on Feb. 25, 2026.
Hyry has 17 points (7-10—17) in 26 games for Texas this season and has posted four points (2-2—4) in four games since returning from an injury that cost him 18 contests, the club release stated. The Oulu, Finland native signed with Dallas as an undrafted international free agent on April 14, 2024 and last season scored 24 goals and totaled 49 points (24-25—49) in 67 AHL games, adding one goal and six points in 14 postseason contests and one assist in five NHL games for Dallas.
Stars head coach Mark Gulutzan framed the recall as a direct need for center depth, saying, "We need a center. He’s a good penalty killer down there. I talked to Petey [Texas head coach Toby Petersen], he’s gotten his legs up and running there. He’s a big, heavy guy. He’s a right shot that’s 58% or something on faceoffs down there. He’s got all the NHL attributes." StarsThoughts projected Hyry to slot on the fourth line between Emil Bemström Bäck and Nathan Bastian for that night’s matchup, listing the forward lines as Robertson-Johnston-Bourque, Steel-Duchene-Benn, Erne-Hryckowian-Blackwell, and Bäck-Hyry-Bastian. Casey DeSmith was listed as the starter with Jake Oettinger returning to Dallas to back up.

Rémi / Remi Poirier returns to Texas with a 16-14-5 record in 34 AHL games this season, a .906 save percentage and a 2.74 goals-against average, ProHockeyRumors reported. That site noted Poirier had been called up a few days earlier to serve as practice depth while Jake Oettinger was in Milan with Team USA; the Feb. 25 announcements sent him back to the AHL as the corresponding move to Hyry’s recall.
Transaction logs show a tight sequence of moves: ESPN’s transaction table records Poirier being recalled from Texas on Feb. 24, 2026, while the Dallas and Texas releases and subsequent coverage on Feb. 25 describe Poirier being loaned or reassigned to Texas as part of the Hyry recall. Those entries can be read together as Poirier briefly joining the NHL group before returning to his AHL duties.

The Hyry recall fills immediate holes created by roster absences: Mikko Rantanen was placed on injured reserve Feb. 23, Radek Faksa was placed on injured reserve Feb. 24, Tyler Seguin remains out for the foreseeable future, and Roope Hintz was unavailable with an illness. Hyry’s recall gives the Stars a right-shot option at center who had been the top returning goal scorer from Texas’ 2024-25 team that advanced to the Western Conference Finals.
