Baker County to Hold March 18 Hearing on PA-25-224 Amendment
Baker County posted Jan. 13 that its Board will hold a public hearing at 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 18, 2026, in the Commissioners Chambers to consider ordinances including amendment PA-25-224.

Baker County posted an official notice on January 13 that the Board of County Commissioners will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. in the Commissioners Chambers at the Baker County Courthouse to consider ordinances including an amendment (PA-25-224) to the county Comprehensive Plan. The county notice names PA-25-224 but does not include the ordinance text or staff report in the posting.
The March 18, 2026 hearing time and location differ from the Board’s usual schedule recorded in county minutes. The Board’s March 4, 2025 minutes state the Board meets on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month at 5:00 p.m. at the Baker County Administration Office, Commission Chambers, 55 North Third Street, Macclenny, FL 32063. Those minutes list County Manager Sara Little, County Attorney Rich Komando and County Clerk Stacie D. Harvey as present and note that “These meeting minutes are a summarized version of the actual discussions at the meeting.” The Wednesday 9:00 a.m. slot on March 18 appears to be a separate public hearing outside the regular 5:00 p.m. meeting times.
The posted notice does not specify a state. Several items in the public-notice record point to Baker County, Florida, including addresses in Macclenny and Glen St. Mary and agenda submission emails for Sara Little and Kayla Riggs. Separate coverage from the Baker City Herald concerns Baker County, Oregon, and is distinct: the Herald reports a 62.5-acre parcel (caption) and a 62-acre description (story body) the county bought in December 2022 for $1.45 million from Ward Ranches. That Herald item names commission chairman Shane Alderson and commissioners Christina Witham and Michelle Kaseberg, notes a March 4, 2026 R3 presentation at 1:00 p.m., and records a fall 2023 contract of $48,000 with Steele Associates Architects of Bend. The Herald quoted the county’s 2023 business plan saying the proposed Event Center “could operate successfully in Baker City and see thousands of annual users and visitors, including regular use by local residents and businesses. An Event Center that is supported and used by the County, the schools, city, chamber of commerce and local nonprofit organizations, Blue Mountain Community College, as well as by the community, will not only be self-sustaining, but also it will make a positive impact on the health and quality of life in Baker County.”
Other March public notices show a clustered local calendar. The Baker County School Board will hold a public hearing Monday, March 2, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at Taylor Church, 26389 CR 250, Sanderson, Florida 32087, to consider school board policies including 3.22 Recording of Parent-Staff Meetings and 4.09 Athletics, among others. Burkins Chevrolet LLC posted a March 3, 2026, 10:00 a.m. auction at 273 E Macclenny Ave, Macclenny, FL 32063 listing a 2010 Chevrolet with VIN 2G1FK1EJXA9184018. A legal notice for property at 5438 County Road 23 D, Glen St. Mary, FL 32040 directs recipients to serve written defenses on McCabe, Weisberg & Conway, LLC at 3222 Commerce Place, Suite A, West Palm Beach, FL 33407 on or before March 16, 2026, and file the original with the Clerk of Court, warning that “otherwise, a default will be entered against you for the relief demanded in the complaint or petition.”

County contacts provided in public records for document requests and agenda matters include County Manager Sara Little at sara.little@bakercountyfl.org and Kayla Riggs at kayla.riggs@bakercountyfl.org. The March 4, 2025 minutes also record LaDonna Combs presenting Ordinance 2025-01 during a final hearing item, and show agenda examples that include emergency management updates from John Blanchard and Dennis Schmidt.
The Board’s March 18 hearing will be the moment to view the complete PA-25-224 ordinance text and any staff report. Until the ordinance and supporting materials are filed with county administration, the posted notice only confirms the amendment number and the hearing logistics for 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 18, 2026, in the Commissioners Chambers at the Baker County Courthouse.
