A crash on the 2000 block of E. Northern Parkway left a male occupant dead after a vehicle struck a pole and caught fire, Baltimore Police said in media advisories posted for Feb. 16, 2026. "Officers arrived on scene and located a vehicle engulfed in flames," the advisory says; the driver, a 22-year-old male, "was pulled from the vehicle from individuals at the scene." The advisory also states, verbatim, "A male occupant of the vehicle was pronounced decreased on scene." Crash Team Investigators responded to the scene and assumed control over the investigation; the department listed 410-396-2606 as the contact for crash information.

Less than an hour later in the Western District, officers responded to multiple Shot-Spotter alerts on Liberty Heights Avenue and located several shooting victims, the same set of advisories says. "On February 16, 2026, at approximately 9:30 p.m., Western District Officers responded to the 2400 block of Liberty Heights Avenue in reference to multiple Shot-Spotter alerts," the advisory reads. Officers "located two males, a 23-year-old and a 25-year-old, each suffering from gunshot wounds," and while canvassing they found "another male victim, a 24-year-old, ... pronounced deceased on scene" in the 2500 block of Liberty Heights Avenue. Officers also responded to the 3100 block of Tioga Parkway in reference to a 27-year-old male shooting victim seeking treatment of a gunshot wound.

The advisory says "Three of the four victims were transported to area hospital for treatment of non-life-threating injuries," and that, "Preliminarily, Detectives believe all four victims were injured in the same incident. Detectives are working to confirm the victims’ identities and ages." Homicide Detectives have assumed control of the investigation; anyone with information was urged to call 410-396-2100, and anonymous tips can be submitted to Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7LOCKUP or via an anonymous online text tip to the MCS website.

A separate neighborhood report in Southwest Baltimore described a different, concurrent investigation on the 400 block of S. Payson Street where medics performed life-saving measures on an unidentified woman who was taken to a nearby hospital and later pronounced dead; officials have not released her name because they are "citing the need to notify her next of kin first," and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the official cause and manner of death. That report framed the case as adding "to a string of serious investigations in the city’s Southwest District."

Baltimore Police have centralized follow-up through two units: Crash Team Investigators for the E. Northern Parkway fatal crash (contact 410-396-2606) and Homicide Detectives for the Liberty Heights/Tioga Parkway shootings (contact 410-396-2100). Authorities asked anyone with information to come forward and use the listed tip lines.
