Bank of Hawaii Reopens Branch of Tomorrow at KTA Pūʻāinakō
Bank of Hawaii reopened its 538-square-foot KTA Pūʻāinakō branch at 50 E. Pūʻāinakō St., Suite 113 in Hilo on Feb. 23 with a 24/7 Easy Deposit ATM and expanded technology-focused Teller Bar.

Bank of Hawaii reopened its renovated 538-square-foot KTA Pūʻāinakō branch inside KTA Super Stores at 50 E. Pūʻāinakō Street, Suite 113 in Hilo on Feb. 23, 2026, adding an outdoor 24/7 Easy Deposit ATM, an indoor ATM available during store hours, an expanded technology-focused Teller Bar and dedicated space for in-person consultations. The branch occupies suite 113 within the grocery store and will operate Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The reopening marks the bank’s third “Branch of Tomorrow” transformation on Hawaiʻi Island in just three months, continuing a modernization program the bank says began in 2016. Bank of Hawaii has served the Hilo community since 1922 and has maintained a presence inside the locally owned KTA Super Stores location at Pūʻāinakō for 30 years, beginning originally with an ATM at the site.
A blessing ceremony at the store featured Bank of Hawaii President and Chief Banking Officer Jim Polk, KTA Pūʻāinakō Branch Manager Katina Bradley and kahu Brian Boshard. Polk framed the renovation as an extension of the two organizations’ local partnership: “Over the years, we’ve built a strong and enduring relationship with KTA Super Stores, rooted in a shared commitment to serving our local community. This renovation reflects that partnership and our mutual dedication to Hawaii Island. KTA continues to make a meaningful difference by supporting local businesses and giving back, and Bank of Hawaii is proud to partner with an organization that shares our values and dedication to Hawaii,” said Bank of Hawaii President and Chief Banking Officer Jim Polk.
Operational details supplied in the bank’s press materials emphasize convenience for shoppers and residents: the outdoor Easy Deposit ATM is available around the clock, while the indoor ATM is accessible during KTA store hours. The renovated footprint includes a dedicated consultation area intended for in-person banking meetings and a technology-focused Teller Bar designed to streamline transactions and customer support.
Bank of Hawaii noted the KTA Pūʻāinakō reopening as the latest step in its island modernization effort and joins two other Hawaiʻi Island branch renovations completed in the past three months. The branch will continue serving customers at the stated Hilo address during posted hours, maintaining a 30-year relationship with the KTA location and a nearly century-long presence in Hilo.
