BBQ & Brew Festival Returns to Downtown Yuma Feb. 28
Downtown Yuma will host the annual BBQ & Brew Festival on Feb. 28, a free, family-friendly day of barbecue, live music and vendor competitions that boost Main Street activity.

Main Street will once again be filled with the sights, sounds and flavors of the BBQ & Brew Festival as the City of Yuma stages a full day of free, family-friendly programming on Saturday, February 28. The event runs from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and aims to draw residents and visitors to downtown for barbecue, live music and vendor competitions.
Organizers say the festival features live music throughout the day, with performances listed by KYMA including Big Bad Wolf, Bobby Trujillo y sus Estelares del Norte, Nashville 90 and American Soldier: A Tribute to Toby Keith. Local cooking competitions and vendor contests will offer storefronts and small vendors a chance to compete and showcase their offerings. Signals AZ reports festival attendees can sample a variety of barbecue styles and cast votes in a People’s Choice competition, with a reported $1,000 prize for the winner.
City Special Events Coordinator Brissa Garcia framed the festival as a community moment. “The BBQ and Brew Festival is a great opportunity for the community to come together and enjoy great food and entertainment in Downtown Yuma,” said Brissa Garcia. “We’re excited to welcome competitors and residents back for another year of this event.” Promotional material and local guides encourage residents to “come hungry, bring your friends and family, and plan to explore Main Street while you’re here.”
Admission is free and the festival is billed as appropriate for all ages. On-site vendor booths will sell additional food and beverage options, and family-friendly activities are scheduled to run alongside musical performances. For live entertainment schedules and other event details, organizers direct the public to the City of Yuma’s event page for updates and confirmations; the official listing also notes that dates and times are subject to change and to contact the City with questions.
Beyond the day itself, the festival functions as a downtown activation event that channels foot traffic to Main Street businesses and local vendors. For restaurateurs, food-truck operators and retail proprietors, the festival is an opportunity to reach new customers and generate sales during a concentrated nine-hour window. City coordination of vendors and entertainment also helps shape pedestrian patterns and parking demand for the immediate area.
Residents planning to attend should expect a day of food, music and community contests, and should check the City of Yuma’s event page or social channels for final performer times, the official vendor list and any last-minute changes. The festival’s return signals renewed momentum for downtown programming and a seasonal boost to small businesses that rely on foot traffic and community events.
