Beatty Board Approves Grant Application for 2026 Ram and Advances Art Auction
The Beatty Town Advisory Board voted 4-0 to seek a Beatty Foundation grant for a 2026 Ram 1500 pickup and advanced Patrick Taylor’s art-auction plan to aid a resident who lost their trailer.

The Beatty Town Advisory Board voted 4-0 at its Feb. 9 meeting to direct staff to apply to the Beatty Foundation for a grant to purchase a 2026 Ram 1500 pickup truck for town use. Coverage of the meeting was published Feb. 27, 2026.
Board members also moved forward a community fundraising proposal from local resident Patrick Taylor, who presented a plan to organize a town-wide art auction to benefit a community member who recently lost their trailer in a tragedy. Taylor suggested accepting all forms of art created by local residents and structuring the event as a silent auction, potentially hosted locally with support from the senior center. The board advanced the proposal for further development.
Financial housekeeping topped the agenda as well. The board unanimously approved a $500 donation to Radio Goldfield KGFN, described in meeting materials as an organization that promotes town meetings and events. The donation drew no opposition and was recorded as an approved line item during routine financial actions.
Board members also approved an update to Desert Hills Cemetery documents to reflect an increased $437 cost for Polygard vault grave liners. The cemetery document change was presented alongside other routine financial items and was accepted by the advisory board during the Feb. 9 session.

Planning for next fiscal work was scheduled before adjournment. The board set a Fiscal Year 2027 budget workshop for March 9 at 5 p.m. at the Beatty Community Center, directing staff and interested parties to attend with budget materials and proposals for town operations.
Meeting attendees identified in coverage included local volunteers, business representatives and town administrative staff, with Ginny Faulkner of the Beatty Chamber of Commerce specifically noted among business representatives. The advisory board’s actions combined operational decisions such as pursuing a vehicle replacement grant with community-focused initiatives like the proposed art auction.
The Feb. 9 directives mean staff will prepare a grant application for the Beatty Foundation for the 2026 Ram 1500 and will continue coordinating details for the art-auction fundraiser and cemetery document changes ahead of the March 9 budget workshop.
