Beltrami County SWCD Begins 2026 Spring Tree Sale; Pickup April 30-May 1
Beltrami County SWCD has opened its 2026 spring tree sale, offering bare-root seedlings and native mixes; pickup is April 30-May 1 at a new location, important for local planting projects.

The Beltrami County Soil and Water Conservation District has opened its 2026 spring tree sale, providing residents and landowners an opportunity to "put down roots" with low-cost bare-root tree and shrub seedlings and native wildflower and grass mixes. Orders are filled on a first-come, first-served basis and will be accepted through the spring of 2026 while supplies last, making early ordering important for those planning windbreaks, shoreline buffers, or habitat plantings.
Seedlings are sold in bundles of 25, and the SWCD is handling orders through its online shop at beltramiswcd.org/shop. The district is also offering in-office assistance for those who need help placing orders; staff can be reached through Rose Moore at rose.moore@co.beltrami.mn.us or (218) 333-4152. The SWCD is positioning this sale as a practical, community-level tool for conservation work across the county.
Pickup for ordered trees will be held April 30 and May 1 at the sale’s new location, 2405 Adams Ave. NW, next to the Beltrami County Highway Department. The shift to the new site aims to streamline distribution logistics and keep pickup centralized and accessible for county residents. Buyers should plan to collect their seedlings during the scheduled pickup window and bring appropriate transportation to move bare-root bundles.
For homeowners, farmers, and township officials, the SWCD sale supports a variety of local needs. Planting seedlings in spring can help establish windbreaks that reduce snow drifting on rural roads, provide shade to lower energy costs, and create corridors for pollinators and wildlife. Native wildflower and grass mixes included in the sale can assist shoreline stabilization and prairie restoration projects that are common priorities in Beltrami County’s lakes and agricultural landscapes.

Because inventory is limited and orders are processed in the sequence received, community groups and municipal entities should coordinate orders early to secure adequate quantities for larger projects. In-office assistance is available for residents who lack internet access or need guidance with selection and ordering.
This sale marks the start of the SWCD’s spring distribution cycle and offers a practical entry point for residents to engage in local conservation work. Residents planning plantings this year should place orders through beltramiswcd.org/shop soon and note the April 30-May 1 pickup dates at 2405 Adams Ave. NW; questions and order help are available from Rose Moore at rose.moore@co.beltrami.mn.us or (218) 333-4152.
