Blue Angels to Headline Great State of Maine Air Show July 11-12

The U.S. Navy Blue Angels will headline the Great State of Maine Air Show at Brunswick Executive Airport in Brunswick on July 11-12, 2026, organizers announced Feb. 26. The two-day lineup also includes the U.S. Air Force F-35 Demo Team — which will be making its first-ever appearance in Maine — and the U.S. Air Force C-17 Demo Team (East Coast), alongside New England aerobatic champion Mike Goulian, Warbird Thunder and the Vacationland Jumpers.

Show organizers say the weekend will include static aircraft displays and family-friendly attractions on the airport grounds, and the official site cautions: "NOTE: All acts are subject to change or cancellation without notice." The announced military and civilian mix follows previous shows that combined jet demonstrations, civilian aerobatics and warbird performances at Brunswick Executive Airport.

Production for the 2026 event is handled by The Air Show Network in partnership with the Midcoast Regional Redevelopment Authority, and the show has been named New England’s exclusive host of a U.S. Military Jet Team as part of the United States’ 250th anniversary celebration. Jim Breen, CEO and chairperson of The Air Show Network, said, "The Great State of Maine Air Show is honored to have been selected as the only air show in New England to feature a U.S. military jet team in celebration of the 250th Anniversary of the United States." Breen added, "With an outstanding mix of jet demonstrations and jaw-dropping civilian performances, this will be a historic and unforgettable weekend."

Ticketing will be handled through the show’s official online ticketing platform and will include day passes, Flight Line Club access, premium box seats and limited VIP parking; organizers emphasize that "Tickets will not be sold on-site during show days." The event’s ticketing vendor is listed as AttendStar, and sponsors for the show include Wild Oats.

Brunswick’s long air-show history frames the announcement: Naval Air Station Brunswick supported major shows through the 1980s, 1990s and early 2000s before the base was officially decommissioned on May 31, 2011. The Great State of Maine Air Show drew a record 150,000 people for the two-day event in 2008, and returned to the skies of Brunswick in 2011 with an all-volunteer organization after the base closure. The Blue Angels have a history of Maine appearances — earlier historical notes tie an appearance gap to 2007, and the team most recently performed in Maine in 2021.
