The markdown is notable for a brand whose products, as multiple reviewers have pointed out, "rarely go on sale." For context, during the 2024 Amazon Big Spring Sale, the original SoundLink Flex dropped from $149 to just $129, a modest 13% reduction. The current deal on the newer model sharpens that considerably, landing $10 below what the previous generation fetched at its own promotional low.

The 2nd Gen brought a handful of meaningful upgrades over the original, which debuted on October 21, 2021. Bluetooth 5.3 replaces an older standard and extends connection range to 30 feet. A new Shortcut button, borrowed from Bose's higher-end SoundLink Max, allows quick access to multiple functions from a single press.
