Bowdoin Squash Seedings Announced; Polar Bears Draw Denison, Williams
Bowdoin’s men were seeded No. 1 in the Summers Cup and drew #8 Denison for a Feb. 27, 3 p.m. quarterfinal in Philadelphia; the women are No. 5 and meet Williams at 9 a.m.
Bowdoin College’s squash programs learned their seedings and matchups on Feb. 24, 2026, and the Polar Bears were placed in two different CSA divisional brackets for the tournament that ran Feb. 27–March 1 at the Arlen Specter US Squash Center in Philadelphia. Bowdoin’s men were seeded No. 1 in the Summers Cup (Men’s 21–28) and were scheduled to face No. 8 Denison in a quarterfinal on Feb. 27 at 3 p.m.; Bowdoin’s women entered the Kurtz Cup as the No. 5 seed and were scheduled to play No. 4 Williams in a Kurtz quarterfinal at 9 a.m. on Feb. 27.
Bowdoin Athletics posted the seeding announcement with the page title “Squash Teams Learn Seeding For CSA Divisional Championships” and a timestamp block reading “Men's Squash 2/24/2026 7:40:00 PM.” The teams also publicized the draw on social media, with an Instagram post stating, “The Bowdoin College squash teams have learned their match-ups for the CSA Divisional Championships beginning Feb. 27 in Philadelphia.”
The College Squash Association described the event as a three-day festival of competition running February 27 - March 1, 2026 at the Arlen Specter US Squash Center in Philadelphia, PA. CSASquash wrote, “The CSA Divisional Team Championships are a celebration of the incredible depth and passion within college squash,” and added, “This three-day event is a true festival of squash, with non-stop action and fierce competition.” Ticketing options listed by the CSA included a Full Weekend Pass and Day Pass, and the organization noted that spectators 18 years old or younger and students with a valid college or high school ID do not need to purchase a ticket; tickets were available in advance or at the door.
Conference context from NESCAC placed Bowdoin’s seeds within the broader divisional structure. NESCAC stated, “In the rankings, the top 12 ranked men’s and women’s teams (Potter & Howe Cups) have secured their spots in the National Championships. Teams ranked between 13 and 34 will compete in the CSA Divisional Championships. All 22 NESCAC teams will compete in a CSA Championship over the next two weekends.” NESCAC’s published Summers Cup quarterfinal schedule paired Bowdoin with Denison at 3 p.m. and listed two noon quarterfinals on Feb. 27: #6 Wesleyan vs. #3 Hamilton and #5 Bates vs. #4 Dickinson, with Summers Cup semifinals set for Feb. 28 at Noon and the final on March 1 at Noon.
On the women’s side, NESCAC’s Kurtz Cup quarterfinal slate on Feb. 27 included Bowdoin vs. Williams at 9 a.m., #6 Colby vs. #3 Columbia at 9 a.m., #7 Wesleyan vs. #2 Georgetown at 9 a.m., and #8 Denison vs. #1 Middlebury at Noon; Kurtz Cup semifinals were scheduled for Feb. 28 at 3 p.m. and the final for March 1 at 9 a.m.
Bowdoin’s athletics page also listed related squash coverage — “Men's Squash 03.01.26,” “Squash stock 02.17.26,” “Men's Squash Seniors 02.10.26,” “Squash scores 01.31.26,” and “Squash stock 01.23.26” — and carried the site footer message, “Ad Blocker Detected … Thanks for visiting ! … We ask that you consider turning off your ad blocker … Thank you for your support!”
What remains to be reported for the Bowdoin community are player lineups, coach reactions, travel plans for alumni and families, and match results; those details were not included in the seeding and schedule releases and will require follow-up interviews and game-day coverage.
