City of Rio Rancho warned residents that online payment systems were unavailable from about 6 a.m. Feb. 14 until 6 a.m. Feb. 15 for a payment software update.

The City of Rio Rancho posted a civic alert informing residents that its online payment systems were taken offline for a planned software update beginning at approximately 6 a.m. Saturday, February 14 and with a scheduled return time of 6 a.m. Sunday, February 15. The notice appeared in the News Flash section of the city website.
In the News Flash civic alert on the City of Rio Rancho website at /CivicAlerts.aspx, the city wrote, "Online payment systems will not be available beginning at approximately 6 a.m. on Saturday, February 14 with a scheduled return time of 6 a.m. on Sunday, February 15. During this time, the payment software system will undergo an update." The News Flash item carried the headline "Online Payment Availability."
The timing and context on the News Flash page place the alert within February 2026 content on the city site. The same News Flash roster includes "Early voting for Rio Rancho residents will be available from February 3-28, 2026. Read on..." and "View the latest edition (Winter 2026) of the City's community newsletter. Read on...," linking the payment notice to the February 2026 calendar framework on the site.
The city page presents additional municipal items and calendar listings for February 2026. The public meetings listed on the page include Mon, Feb 16 - Library Board Mtg.; Mon, Feb 16 - Parks & Rec. Commission Mtg.; Tue, Feb 17 - Parks & Rec Commission Mtg.; Tue, Feb 17 - Governing Body Work Session Mtg.; Tue, Feb 17 - Public Infrastructure Advisory Board Mtg. (Canceled); Wed, Feb 18 - Investment Advisory Board Mtg.; Tue, Feb 24 - Planning & Zoning Board Mtg.; and Thu, Feb 26 - Governing Body Meeting. The calendar section also contains a duplicated block that states "There are no published events in current month." and the single-word artifact "Loading" at the end of the snippet.

The civic alert uses the word "approximately" for the Feb. 14 start and an exact "scheduled return time of 6 a.m. on Sunday, February 15" for the end. The News Flash item does not specify which online payment services were affected, whether in-person or phone payments were available as alternatives, or the time zone attached to the 6 a.m. times. The page layout shows site navigation elements such as "Skip to Main Content," "Forms & Permits," "Citizen Services," "City Spotlights," and "Read on..." links for each News Flash item.
Residents and Rio Rancho account holders seeking the full civic alert can view the News Flash item titled "Online Payment Availability" on the City of Rio Rancho website at the Civic Alerts path /CivicAlerts.aspx, where the city has posted the brief notice and accompanying "Read on..." link.
