Ella Langley turned the 61st Academy of Country Music Awards into a one-artist statement, sweeping every category she was nominated in and leaving Las Vegas with five trophies, including Song of the Year for “Choosin’ Texas,” Single of the Year, Female Artist of the Year, Music Event of the Year and Artist-Songwriter of the Year. Her run, seven wins from seven nominations, gave the night its clearest signal: country’s commercial momentum is increasingly being driven by artists who can move between traditional storytelling, radio-ready hooks and collaborative projects built for scale.

Cody Johnson took the genre’s top individual honor, Entertainer of the Year, and added Male Artist of the Year to his haul. His win mattered beyond the trophy count because it placed a mainstream, boots-on-the-ground Texas voice at the center of a show that otherwise spotlighted a broader shift in the genre’s power structure. Johnson dedicated his Entertainer of the Year speech to Luke Combs, underscoring how competitive the field has become among country’s biggest ticket sellers and streaming draws.

The night’s winners list also reflected how much the genre’s center of gravity has moved toward women. Megan Moroney led all nominees with nine, followed by Miranda Lambert with eight, while Langley and Lainey Wilson each entered with seven. That depth showed up onstage as well, with early performances from Wilson and Lambert helping set the tone for a show that paired veteran star power with a new generation of hitmakers. Kacey Musgraves, Little Big Town, Riley Green and others were also part of a lineup built to balance country’s polished commercial core with its more traditional roots.

Shania Twain hosted the ACM Awards for the first time, guiding a show that returned to Las Vegas after three years at Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas. Held at MGM Grand Garden Arena, the broadcast streamed live on Prime Video and Amazon Music and reached more than 240 countries and territories, another sign of how country music is being packaged for a global audience rather than only a regional one.

Founded in 1966, the ACM Awards remain the longest-running country music awards show, but this year’s results pointed squarely forward. Langley’s sweep, Johnson’s marquee win and the depth of women across the nomination field suggested a genre expanding its commercial base while making more room for artists who can command both charts and culture.
