Cone Health women's clinic moves to 520 N. Elam Feb. 23, 2026
Cone Health moved its Femina women's clinic to 520 N. Elam Ave (first floor) on Feb. 23, 2026; meanwhile 112 patients were transferred to the new Women’s & Children’s Center at Moses Cone.

Cone Health relocated the Cone Health Center for Women’s Healthcare at Femina to 520 N. Elam Ave, first floor, effective Feb. 23, 2026, the health system announced. The move establishes the Femina clinic at a new Greensboro street address but the original announcement did not list hours, phone numbers or the prior Femina closing date.
Separately, Cone Health carried out a hospital-scale transfer moving patients out of the longtime Cone Health Women’s Hospital on Green Valley Road. The Green Valley Road facility was scheduled to officially close at 5:30 a.m. Sunday, and the new Cone Health Children’s & Women’s Center at Moses Cone Hospital is located at Entrance C off Northwood Street.
Hospital leaders planned a coordinated ambulance transfer for all patients. Beginning Sunday at 7 a.m., 112 patients were to be transported by ambulance to the Women’s & Children’s Center, with ambulances leaving the existing women’s hospital every four minutes. The transfer operation was expected to continue until about 4 p.m., and Entrance C off Northwood Street was blocked to the public during the move.
Operations staff rehearsed the relocation in advance. “We’ve been practicing over the last several months with mock moves. We had mock patients,” Pedaline said. “They’re testing the routes, testing the timing. We’ve practiced a lot, and we feel very confident. We can’t wait to put this place into action. We’re excited that this new place will support the great care that we give.”
The new Women’s & Children’s Center is a 195,768 square-foot addition to the Moses Cone Hospital campus that includes an Entrance C on Northwood Street, a connected parking deck and free 24/7 valet service. Cone Health noted that women’s hospital staff and physicians, along with dozens of former patients and community members, helped design the addition; hospital leaders said the prior women’s hospital had been in a roughly 60-year-old building described as a “temporary space” and had been about a 10-minute drive from Moses Cone.
Philanthropy also factored into the reshaping of women’s services. Cone Health announced a $1.5 million gift from longtime OB-GYN Dr. Vanessa Haygood and said the MedCenter for Women will be renamed the Cone Health Pearl Walker Haygood MedCenter for Women in honor of Haygood’s late mother. “My mother would be proud to have her name associated with MedCenter for Women,” Haygood said. “It’s a place where women can learn to care for their health, find encouragement and realize that their beginnings are their beginnings, not their legacies.” Dr. Tanya Pratt, OB-GYN at Cone Health, said the donation “strengthens our ability to provide the highest quality care for women and children. It’s about excellence and outcomes. We’re committed to delivering care that addresses the full spectrum of women’s health needs.” Michelle Schnider, Cone Health’s Chief Philanthropy Officer, added, “It is fitting that we put Pearl Walker Haygood’s name on this facility. Her values of education, hard work and resilience echo the mission of Cone Health and the work happening every day inside the MedCenter.”
Cone Health also posted a short announcement saying, “Now open at MedCenter Greensboro at Drawbridge Parkway. Turn to Cone Health Center for Women's Healthcare for experienced and compassionate care for all women.” The available materials do not explicitly state whether the MedCenter Greensboro at Drawbridge Parkway is the same physical location being renamed the Pearl Walker Haygood MedCenter for Women, and Cone Health contact details, clinic hours and full service listings for 520 N. Elam Ave, the Drawbridge Parkway MedCenter and the new Moses Cone entrance were not provided in the excerpts. Those outstanding details remain to be confirmed as patients and clinics settle into the new locations.
