Copperas Cove ISD Posts Recording of Feb. 9 Board Workshop, Special Meeting
Copperas Cove ISD posted a recording of its Feb. 9 workshop/special meeting so residents can review discussions on audits, contracts, book purchases and recognitions.

Copperas Cove ISD has posted a video recording of its Regular February Workshop / Special Called Meeting held Feb. 9, 2026, giving local residents an opportunity to review board discussions on fiscal matters, contracts and program recognitions. The meeting began at 6:00 PM in the Board Room and the district announced the session on social media in advance.
An Instagram post ahead of the meeting stated, “Tomorrow night, the CCISD Board of Trustees will hold a Workshop/Special Called Meeting at 6 p.m. in the Board Room. A recording of the meeting” and the district subsequently posted the full recording on Feb. 9. The board agenda posted in the Boardbook shows a mix of hearings, information items and action items that affect district operations and spending.
Key agenda items included a public hearing on the Texas Academic Performance Report (TAPR); several recognitions, including a student item titled “Copperas Cove High School Students who Graduated with Degrees and Certifications from Central Texas College, through CCISD Dual Credit and Early College Program” and a staff recognition described as “City of Copperas Cove Commemorating National School Board Recognition Month.” Information items were listed but not expanded in the posted excerpt.
Financial and procurement items drew particular focus on the agenda. The board considered selecting Schneider Electric to perform an investment grade audit, procured via TIPS Co-OP Contract #220104, and listed a separate item to approve the Quarterly Investment Report and Policy. A proposed contract with The Stepping Stones Group for a Speech Language Pathologist appears on the action calendar under procurement reference TIPS #230703 with a cost of $66,248.00 from budgeted funds. Library purchases were also listed, with attachments labeled “Library Book Purchase December 2025” and an amended proposed book list.
The agenda includes an action item described as “Consider and Discuss the Annual Audit Report for the 2023-2024 Fiscal Year Ending 8/31/2025,” with an attached action sheet titled “Financial Audit Report for 2024-2025,” reflecting a fiscal-year wording discrepancy in the materials. The board also listed an out-of-state trip for a teacher recognition event, Southwest Conference Teacher of the Year (SWCOLT) 2026, scheduled for Feb. 19-21 in Broomfield, CO.

The district provides procedures for public participation: “If you wish to address the Copperas Cove ISD Board of Trustees in public comment at the meeting, print the Public Comment Form and bring it the Superintendent’s secretary at the meeting before the meeting is set to start. There are also copies available to fill out in the board room before each meeting.” Copperas Cove ISD is located at 408 S. Main St., Copperas Cove, TX 76522; phone 254-547-1227; fax 254-547-1535.
The agenda materials reaffirm the district mission: “The mission of Copperas Cove ISD is to provide exceptional opportunities for each student through exemplary instruction, which inspires academic success, personal excellence, and responsible citizenship.” The district also posts this non-discrimination statement: “The Copperas Cove Independent School District does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, gender, national origin, disability, or any other basis prohibited by law in its programs, activities, or employment practices.
