Creature Comforts to Open Beer Garden in Chattanooga Foundries District in April
Creature Comforts will open the Creature Comforts Beer Garden inside The Shed in Chattanooga’s Foundries District, adjacent to Erlanger Park, with an opening expected in April.

Creature Comforts Brewing Company announced it will open the Creature Comforts Beer Garden inside the historic foundry building known as The Shed in Chattanooga’s Foundries District, with the activation expected to open in April and to operate on most game days, non-game day weekends and other community occasions. The Shed sits adjacent to the Chattanooga Lookouts’ new home at Erlanger Park, positioning the beer garden as a neighborhood draw during baseball games and other events.
Adam Beauchamp, co-founder and CEO of Creature Comforts, framed the beer garden as part of the company’s local growth. “Since entering the Chattanooga market in 2022, this community has resonated strongly with Creature Comforts. The Beer Garden is more than a taproom — it’s a front‑row seat to Chattanooga’s next great chapter in the development of the Foundries District. Fostering human connection is our purpose, and creating welcoming spaces like this — designed for people to come together — is one way we bring that purpose to life. We’re grateful to be embraced by the Chattanooga community, and we’re excited to grow with the District.”
Creature Comforts described the activation as an open-air beer garden inside The Shed with programming that will include live music, art, local food events and community-driven activations. Cole Nicholson, senior director of strategy for Creature Comforts, wrote in an email that “There will be a small stage and seating for entertainment, and plenty of space to bring in local vendors and activities.” The company plans the Beer Garden to be open on most game days, on non-game day weekends and for other occasions starting at launch.
The Athens, Georgia-based brewery was founded in 2014 and began distributing in Chattanooga in 2022. Creature Comforts is the 31st largest craft brewery in the U.S., and its flagship IPA Tropicália is described as the best-selling craft IPA in the Southeast. Creature Comforts products are already available at more than 130 retailers in Chattanooga, giving the brand an established retail footprint ahead of the Beer Garden opening.
The Beer Garden announcement arrives as the broader Foundries District redevelopment moves forward on roughly 120 acres that once housed U.S. Pipe and Wheland Pipe foundries. Perimeter Properties owns the site and donated land for the $115 million stadium; Andy Stone, partner at Perimeter Properties, projects the first private development phase will include a 300-unit apartment building and 80,000 square feet of office space for a roughly $140 million investment. Jim Irwin, president of New City Properties, said, “We are thrilled that the Chattanooga community’s first experience of the Foundry District will be the Creature Comforts Beer Garden.”
Creature Comforts plans to occupy a permanent, long-term location next door along the Riverwalk as the Foundries District develops and has expressed interest in moving into another reclaimed U.S. Pipe structure, though “There is no set timeline for when we transition to our permanent one,” Nicholson said. Grand opening celebrations and additional details will be announced in the coming weeks; follow @CreatureComfortsChattanooga for updates.
