Crescent Communities broke ground March 20, 2025 on HARMON Jefferson Village, a 130-unit build-to-rent townhome neighborhood sited at 4126 Macbeth Street, Greensboro. The project marks Crescent’s first multifamily entry into the Greensboro market and occupies 16 acres described as “just steps from the Jefferson Village and New Garden Shopping Centers.”
The community will offer three- and four-bedroom townhomes ranging from 1,650 to 2,165 square feet with flexible floor plan options that include loft space, a game room, and an option for a main-floor primary suite. Developer and marketing materials highlight “high-end interiors,” inviting front porches, fenced-in yards, large covered patios, and two-car attached garages equipped with remote access and electric vehicle charging.
Shared amenities are designed to support neighborhood-style living. Crescent and trade coverage list a resort-style pool, a pool pavilion with a grilling station, an event lawn for gatherings, and trailhead access for outdoor recreation. Greystar’s property summary for 4126 Macbeth Street emphasizes proximity to top-rated schools, shopping, dining, and major highways, framing the site for “young families and young professionals working remotely” as well as “older adults looking to downsize.”
Tony Chen, Senior Managing Director of Build-to-Rent at Crescent Communities, described the product in company social media: “With high-end interiors, inviting outdoor spaces, and a prime location, HARMON Jefferson Village offers the best of both worlds - homeownership feel with the flexibility of renting.” That messaging aligns with Crescent’s broader HARMON portfolio strategy of single-family rental neighborhoods in high-growth Sun Belt markets.

Crescent named an account managed by Heitman LLC as the equity partner for the project. Copper Builders is listed as general contractor, Kimley-Horn as civil engineer, LRK as conceptual designer, and Vinyet Architecture and 505 Design as architects. Crescent’s LinkedIn post dated to the March 20, 2025 announcement included groundbreaking photos and renders and stated “construction is officially underway,” while industry coverage reiterated a projected opening in summer 2025.
Developer materials and trade coverage do not disclose a total development cost, exact lease-up timetable, or rent levels. An original truncated report described the effort as a “multimillion-dollar local housing investment” but no dollar figure or construction financing terms were provided in the press release, trade articles, or the Greystar listing. No municipal approvals, tax incentives, or zoning actions were reported in the supplied materials.
HARMON Jefferson Village joins other Crescent HARMON projects named in the release, including HARMON Foxbank near Moncks Corner, South Carolina, and HARMON Five Points in Charlotte, and a pipeline cited in Atlanta, Dallas, Nashville, Orlando, Phoenix, and Tampa. When it opens, the 130 three- and four-bedroom townhomes will add a measurable family-sized rental stock to Greensboro’s market, reflecting the broader Sun Belt build-to-rent trend but leaving key economic details such as total cost and targeted rents to be confirmed by Crescent or its equity partner.
