DC Multisport Color Fun Run April 4 Benefits Dove Recovery House
DC Multisport opened registration for the Color Fun Run in Ferdinand, set for Saturday, April 4 at 10 a.m., with proceeds benefiting the Dove Recovery House and past donations totaling $5,470.83.

DC Multisport has opened registration for its 2026 Color Fun Run in Ferdinand, a family-friendly walk/run that will raise money for the Dove Recovery House in Jasper. The organizer presented $5,470.83 to the Dove Recovery House from last year’s Color Fun Run proceeds on December 3, and this year’s event is set to channel proceeds above operating costs to the recovery program.
Participants will gather at the Tri-County YMCA, 131 E. 16th St., Ferdinand, with the first wave scheduled to start at 10:00 a.m. ET. The course uses the looped trail at 18th Street Park, where each lap is 1.1 miles; runners and walkers may complete up to three laps for a maximum of 3.3 miles. Color powder checkpoints will produce the event’s trademark bursts of paint along the route; DC Multisport framed the event as an invitation to “walk, run, and splash into a rainbow of fun.”
The run is explicitly non-competitive. The registration page states, “This event is FOR FUN! No place prizes but for each lap around 18th St park (1.1 miles/lap) earn a ticket to enter in to win a completion prize!! -up to 3 laps (3.3 miles)-” Participants receive one prize ticket per completed lap; prize drawings will include items donated by local businesses as the list of donors is finalized.
Registration is open now. RunSignUp lists online registration available until April 2 and day-of registration from 9:15 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Organizers urge anyone who wants an official 2026 Color Fun Run T-shirt to register by March 19. RunSignUp posts a fee schedule of $20 for a single registration and $50 for a family registration covering three people, with additional family members priced at $10 each. A separate local event calendar lists different family pricing and indicates children 2 and under are free; organizers recommend confirming final fees and the children’s policy directly with DC Multisport.

Volunteers, sponsors, and spectators can support the event by helping distribute or throw color powder along the route, staffing water stations, or donating prizes. For sponsorship, volunteer sign-up, or questions, DC Multisport can be reached at dcmultisport@gmail.com. Race director contact listed on the registration page is Rachael Waninger, brwaninger@yahoo.com or 812-630-1666; the organization also accepts mailed registration materials at DC Multisport, 248 E. 3rd St., Suite C, Jasper, IN 47546.
Organizers emphasize the local impact: the Dove Recovery House provides structured, supportive housing and recovery programming for women overcoming substance use challenges, and DC Multisport’s post-event donation last December demonstrates a measurable funnel of community support. With registration open through early April and on-site sign-up available the morning of the run, Ferdinand’s Color Fun Run again aims to combine neighborhood fitness, family activity, and financial support for local recovery services.
