Delhi Police Arrest Two for Premeditated Revenge Killing of 17-Year-Old Vishnu

Vishnu, 17, was found charred in bushes near Majlis Park Metro Station in North West Delhi after what police say was a planned revenge killing; Delhi Police have arrested two men, identified as Gaurav alias Kaliya and Vinay, in the case. Additional Commissioner of Police Bhisham Singh said the caller alerted officers to the scene: “The caller informed that a child's body was lying at the spot.”

Police allege the attack followed a drinking session on the night of February 11, when Vishnu confessed involvement in a 2025 murder and said he intended to eliminate one of the men present. “On the night of February 11, during a drinking session around 10.45 pm, Vishnu allegedly confessed his role in Deepak's murder and expressed his intention to eliminate Gaurav as well. Enraged by this, Gaurav conspired with Vinay to kill Vishnu and avenge Deepak's death,” the officer added. Hindustan Times reporting and police accounts say the accused repeatedly hit Vishnu on the head with a stone, then procured petrol, poured it over his body and set it ablaze in the intervening night of February 11 and 12.

Investigators tied the two arrests to forensic leads and footage. DNA India reported that “Gaurav was seen carrying the body in the CCTV during police investigation” and that Vinay was arrested after officers traced the scooty number; Gaurav was arrested subsequently. ADCP Sikander Singh was quoted as saying, “On the morning of February 11th, we received a PCR call around 8:30 in the morning informing us that a burnt body was found in the bushes near the Majlis Park Metro Station. Our team arrived at the scene, and the body was sent to the mortuary for identification.”

The killing is being linked by police to a separate August 2025 murder. Indian Express material cites officers calling the new killing a “premeditated act of revenge” tied to that earlier case, in which a man named Deepak was allegedly stabbed to death. Indian Express also reports that Vishnu had been sent to a juvenile home in connection with the 2025 case and was released on bail on January 31, and that his sister told police he had been receiving threats from a neighbour of Deepak and left home on February 11 and did not return.

Published accounts contain two notable discrepancies investigators will need to reconcile. Hindustan Times and Indian Express say the fire and charred body were reported to Adarsh Nagar police station at about 8:30 am on February 12; DNA India quotes ADCP Sikander Singh saying the PCR call came at about 8:30 am on February 11. Sources also differ on the immediate scene description, variously calling it “bushes,” a “forested area,” or the metro station’s parking lot.

DNA further reports that the victim’s father identified the body in the mortuary on February 15 at Ashok Vihar Police Station. Police have arrested Gaurav and Vinay and described the killing as revenge for the 2025 case; formal charge details and custody records were not included in the available statements. Investigations cited CCTV footage, vehicle tracing and family identification as the evidentiary threads that led to these arrests.
