Dobie High School at 10220 Blackhawk Blvd. in Pasadena was placed on lockdown after a student reported seeing an individual who may have had a firearm, Pasadena Independent School District officials said. Law enforcement and campus administrators searched classrooms and reviewed security footage; officials confirmed no weapon was located and all students and staff were safe.

According to the FOX 26 Houston transcript, "it was around 7:30 when a student notified staff there that they believed that someone had a weapon," and the campus "immediately went into a lockdown, which is what they're trained to do." The FOX 26 transcript described activation of the district’s Centiggics crisis alert system, saying it is "integrated with our PA system flashing strobes uh desktop takeover and push notifications to our administrative staff. It also goes to our law enforcement agencies uh to let them know that the lockdown has been initiated on the campuses."

Pasadena ISD issued a statement saying in part, "Dobie High School has been placed on lockdown today out of an abundance of caution after a report that a student saw an individual with a possible firearm on campus. Law enforcement and campus administration responded immediately, and an investigation is currently ongoing. All students and staff are safe. The lockdown was implemented to ensure the safety of everyone on campus while the situation is thoroughly assessed. Students are being supervised by staff, and safety protocols are being followed. Please know that the safety of our students and staff is our highest priority. We will continue to work closely with law enforcement and will provide updates as more information becomes available. At this time, parents should not come to campus, as this may interfere with emergency operations."

Click2Houston reporter T.J. Parker noted officers were called to the campus "around 8 a.m. Tuesday" and quoted police saying "units are currently on scene and there is no threat at this time." KHOU published a district update at about 9:45 a.m. stating that "all reported leads have been investigated and no threats had been identified" and that "as an added precaution, law enforcement is conducting classroom sweeps to provide an extra layer of safety and reassurance for our school community." KHOU's Air 11 footage also showed adults gathered outside the school during the response.

FOX 26's on-scene transcript referenced district law enforcement with the transcription writing "Pastina ISD police" in one passage, while other outlets and district materials refer to Pasadena ISD police and law enforcement partners. FOX 26 also reported the lockdown was lifted "just about 30 minutes" after the initial report, though KHOU said officers remained conducting sweeps until the campus was fully cleared.

District officials repeatedly asked parents not to come to campus to avoid interfering with emergency operations. FOX 26's transcript recorded that "parents are so concerned they're coming up to the school" and that school leaders said it was "30 minutes after the first report... that they did have some correspondence with the parents." Officials did not identify the person reportedly seen or report any arrests, and KHOU said, "Once the campus has been fully cleared by law enforcement, they'll give another update.
