Dr. Nojoke's Cliknopium I EP launches CLIKNOPIUM 12-inch series
Dr. Nojoke, aka Frank Bogdanowitz, has issued Cliknopium I, a three-track EP listed on Bandcamp/CLIKNO that launches a new 12-inch series and features mastering by Mike Grinser.

Dr. Nojoke, the performing name of Frank Bogdanowitz, has released Cliknopium I, a three-track EP that opens a new 12-inch series for his CLIKNO project and is listed on Bandcamp/CLIKNO. The release is presented as a concise statement of Dr. Nojoke’s club-minded minimalism, described in accompanying materials as leaning into dub-tinged minimal techno and deep, restrained club moods.
The EP’s three pieces arrive with distinct identities. Treguja, the opener, “opens the record with a playful, slightly wonky funk, evoking the atmosphere of a clandestine backyard rave.” Gragada moves into “deeper Dubtech territories, its bird calls and floating chords unfolding like a memory of a vanished paradise.” On the B-side, Wesikwa “propels the listener into a dreamlike, ritualistic groove, carried by Jew’s harps, murmured voices, and a steady, immersive pulse.” Those track descriptions frame a side A/B structure built around texture, bass and restrained rhythmic invention.
Sonically, the record leans on a lineage of microscopic rhythm and careful textural work. “Influenced early on by the click-and-glitch lineage of Villalobos, Jan Jelinek, Akufen, and Alva Noto, Dr.Nojoke has long expanded his palette to include dub-infused basslines, delicate percussions, and hypnotic textures. The result is a body of work he describes as ‘CLIKNO,’ where organic sounds meet electronic precision.” That line captures the EP’s balance between tactile micro-rhythms and weighty low-end, placing Cliknopium I squarely within the click-and-glitch and dub-leaning minimal techno conversation.
Bogdanowitz’s methods are spelled out as rigorously as the sound: “no presets, no templates, no classic machines, and every sound crafted from scratch.” The materials also note his longer arc, stating, “Since his beginnings in 2005, Dr.Nojoke has focused on transforming everyday sonic fragments into electronic microcosms.” These touchpoints emphasize a handcrafted approach and a continuity of purpose across his catalog.

Technical and release credits include mastering by Mike Grinser at Manmade Mastering. An image cue in the release materials reads “Dr.Nojoke - Cliknopium I [CLIKNOPIUM01],” which suggests a catalog cue though a formal catalog number has not been confirmed. Cliknopium I is presented as marking an anniversary, with the statement, “With CLIKNOPIUM I, Dr.Nojoke opens a new 12-inch series marking 20 years of CLIKNO,” and the copy adds, “Twenty years after the concept began, CLIKNO remains as vital and imaginative as ever.”
Cliknopium I appears alongside other recent Dr. Nojoke work in the same material, but Inpi Mari is a separate four-track EP: “Longtime sonic sculptor and advocate of abstract technoid pulsars, Frank Bogdanowitz (aka Dr. Nojoke), presents Inpi Mari—a minimal techno suite steeped in mournful beauty and urgent purpose.” That release’s four immersive pieces explicitly explore ecological themes and should not be conflated with the three-track, dub-leaning Cliknopium I. With the first CLIKNOPIUM entry out, the 12-inch series promises more physical and catalog details to come as the project continues.
