Early Morning Mobile Home Fire Kills Woman, Multiple Pets in North Forsyth
A woman and multiple pets died when a mobile home in the 5000 block of Settingdown Road in north Forsyth caught fire; fire crews responded around 5:15 a.m.

A woman was found dead after a mobile home in the 5000 block of Settingdown Road in north Forsyth County caught fire early Wednesday morning, and multiple pets also perished, authorities said.
According to the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, "Fire crews responded around 5:15 a.m. to a single-family mobile home in the 5000 block of Settingdown Road." Neighbors reported seeing emergency vehicles in the area before dawn as crews worked to control the blaze.
The roadway was closed between Hampton Park Road and Bottoms Road for several hours while crews worked the scene; the closure has since lifted and traffic is flowing normally. Forsyth County Fire Department units remained on site during the morning response as investigators processed the scene.
Officials confirmed one adult female was found deceased inside the mobile home and said "multiple pets also died in the fire." No identifying information about the victim or details on the number or species of animals have been released by authorities.
The Forsyth County Coroner’s Office transported the woman’s body to the GBI Crime Lab for examination. "The woman’s body has been transported to the GBI Crime Lab for examination, which officials said is standard procedure in fire-related deaths," investigators noted as they continued evidence collection.

"The cause of the fire remains under investigation," and Forsyth County Fire investigators are working alongside Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office crime scene units and the Forsyth County Coroner’s Office, officials said. At this stage investigators have not characterized the origin of the blaze or indicated whether the fire is being treated as accidental or suspicious.
No additional details have been released about the timeline of the 911 call, knockdown time, or whether anyone else was in the home when the fire began. Forsyth County authorities have not released the victim’s name, age, or next of kin, and they have not provided a count of the animals lost in the blaze.
