Ellen M. Fleming, 79, of Millersburg, passed away peacefully Sunday, March 1, 2026, after a lengthy battle with dementia; family requested no services and Alexander Funeral Home is assisting.

Ellen M. Fleming (Bennett), 79, of Millersburg, passed away peacefully Sunday, March 1, 2026, after a lengthy battle with dementia, her obituary posted by Alexander Funeral Home said. Fleming was born Feb. 23, 1947, in Cleveland, Ohio, and lived her final years in Millersburg.
Her obituary lists five children and their locations: Brian Sharpe (Carolyn) of Parma, Ohio; Tom Sharpe (Kelly Sandor) of Lorain, Ohio; Dan Fleming (Marcia) of Sheffield Lake, Ohio; Kim Meulen (Ron) of Indianapolis, Indiana; and Cheri Fleming of Millersburg. The memorial entries note she is also survived by her sister, Darlene Larimore (Ken) of Grove City, Ohio, and by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, though numbers and names were not provided.
Fleming was preceded in death by two husbands, Tom Sharpe and Herb Fleming, and by son-in-law Weldon Baisden, the obituary and memorial pages state. Several siblings are listed as predeceased: James Bennett, Carl Hebda, Nancy Henson and Marlene Zimmerly. The obituary names her parents as Jack and Bernice Bennett; some third-party memorial reposts alternatively list her mother as Bernice Hebda, an inconsistency that appears across online copies of the funeral home text.
The obituary highlights domestic pleasures and family time as central to Fleming’s life: "Ellen appreciated the simple pleasures of life, finding enjoyment in crossword puzzles, Scrabble, word searches, and watching her favorite television shows, including The Golden Girls and Two and a Half Men. She valued time spent with family, cherishing moments with those closest to her." The memorialized text adds that "Ellen will be remembered for her quiet strength, her love of family, and the simple joys that brought her happiness throughout her life."

To honor Fleming’s wishes, the family requested there be no public services, and Alexander Funeral Home, Inc., of Millersburg is assisting with arrangements. The funeral home’s online memorial pages provide a guestbook for condolences and note that Alexander Funeral Home offers a complimentary daily grief message email service for up to one year.
Public memorial pages that reproduce the funeral home obituary include standard options such as lighting a candle, planting a memorial tree and sending flowers; the obituary itself does not specify donations, interment location, or private family plans. For clarification of parentage and other biographical details, the funeral home is the originating source of the obituary as posted on its Millersburg office memorial page.
