Enbridge Opens 130 MW Orange Grove Solar in Jim Wells County
Enbridge commissioned Orange Grove Solar in Jim Wells County, putting roughly 300,000 panels across 920 acres online in early June 2025 and selling the output under a long-term VPPA to AT&T.

Enbridge has commissioned the Orange Grove Solar project in Jim Wells County, bringing roughly 300,000 photovoltaic panels spread over about 920 acres into service and placing roughly 130 megawatts of capacity on the ERCOT grid in early June 2025. Dallas-based AT&T has signed a long-term virtual power purchase agreement to take the project’s output, a deal Enbridge says will help the company offset energy expenses and lower its carbon footprint.
The installation appears in ERCOT interconnection records as Queue ID 21INR0393 with a technical capacity listed at 130.6 MW; a separate tracker lists the site at 131 MWac. Enbridge and industry coverage have used the rounded figure 130 MW in public statements. Construction began in spring 2024 and, Enbridge said, produced about 400 jobs during the build phase; Interconnection.fyi shows a proposed completion date of April 21, 2025 while Enbridge marked commissioning with a ribbon-cutting and an official commissioning notice in early June 2025.

Enbridge presented the site as the company’s first solar facility in Texas and said the project fed clean electricity into the Electric Reliability Council of Texas grid. Matthew Akman, Executive Vice President of Corporate Strategy and President of Enbridge’s power business, said, “We are pleased to be able to deliver additional zero emission electricity into the grid in support of local and Texas state-wide economic growth and energy demand.” Enbridge also noted a broader renewables footprint, saying the company has invested more than US$8 billion in renewable projects and lists 13 solar projects totaling 1,356 MW in the U.S. and Canada; Enbridge materials also point to Sequoia Solar, an 815 MW project under construction in Callahan County, as a larger Texas project in its pipeline.
Public records and independent trackers use several names and ownership lines for the facility. Enbridge’s materials refer to Orange Grove Solar and describe the company as developer and commissioning party. Global Energy Monitor lists the same coordinates (27.9183, -97.9805) under the name Talitha or Talihta solar farm, records a 2025 commissioning year and attributes ownership to Advanced Power AG with operation under Talihta Energy Project. The differing entries mean county officials, landowners, and businesses seeking contract or tax records should reference Queue ID 21INR0393 and the site coordinates when requesting documentation.
Manager of Power Projects Maja Nisbet framed the commissioning as a local effort: “Orange Grove Solar wouldn’t be possible without the support of the people who helped make it a reality ... this celebration event is really about the community behind it. From Orange Grove residents and nearby landowners to our dedicated project team — and the local, state, and federal officials who supported us every step of the way—this was a shared effort. Thank you for being such strong partners.” The array sits near Orange Grove and Alice, about 45 miles west of Corpus Christi, and will add the 130–131 MW of solar capacity to ERCOT’s supply picture as that grid meets Texas demand going forward.
