Essex influencer Klaudia Zakrzewska dies after Soho crash, murder charge follows

Klaudia Zakrzewska, the Essex influencer known online as Klaudiaglam, died in hospital on Saturday after a collision on Argyll Street in Soho, triggering a murder charge in one of central London’s busiest nightlife corridors.

The 32-year-old was struck at about 4:30am on Sunday, April 19, outside the Inca nightclub, just off Oxford Street. Police said the crash left three pedestrians injured in all: Zakrzewska, a 58-year-old man who suffered life-changing injuries, and a woman in her 30s who sustained minor injuries. The Metropolitan Police said the incident is not being treated as terrorism-related.

Officers arrested a 29-year-old woman at the scene on suspicion of attempted murder, grievous bodily harm, dangerous driving and drink driving. She was later charged with attempted murder and appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court, where she was remanded in custody. In reporting, she has been named as Gabrielle Carrington, a former X Factor finalist from Miss Dynamix.

Zakrzewska had built a large online following, with more than 250,000 Instagram followers and a wider presence on TikTok. Her mother posted a public appeal for prayers while Zakrzewska was fighting for her life, and nearly £18,000 had reportedly been crowdfunded for treatment and legal fees before her death was announced.

Detective Chief Inspector Alison Foxwell said officers remained deeply sympathetic to Zakrzewska’s family and friends and were continuing the investigation. Police said the attempted murder charge would now be increased to murder after her death, which came six days after the collision. Witnesses are still being asked to come forward as investigators piece together what happened on a street that channels late-night pedestrians, nightclub traffic and heavy footfall from the Oxford Street area.
