Eveleth woman pleads guilty to drive-by shooting at Hells Angels clubhouse
Adrien Marie Gunderson, 40, pleaded guilty Feb. 23 to firing multiple shots at the Hells Angels clubhouse in Eveleth; sentencing is set for May 4 at 9:00 a.m.

Adrien Marie Gunderson, 40, of Forbes, Minnesota, pleaded guilty Feb. 23 in St. Louis County District Court to a felony count of drive-by shooting toward an occupied building after admitting she fired multiple shots at the front door of the Hells Angels clubhouse in Eveleth on Sept. 2, 2024. The plea was entered before the Honorable Michelle M. Anderson in case file #69VI-CR-24-948, St. Louis County Attorney Kim Maki said in a county news release.
Prosecutors and investigators say camera footage shows Gunderson exit a vehicle, approach the clubhouse front door and fire multiple rounds. The Eveleth Police Department’s initial report listed the clubhouse address as 413 Grant Avenue. Mesabi Tribune’s reporting includes an initial 911 caller description of a female in a silver Jeep and places the scene at about 6:15 a.m., though the county release and other reporting focus on the footage and subsequent evidence rather than the precise time.
Crime-scene evidence tied Gunderson to the shooting: officers recovered 14 9mm cartridge casings on the street and sidewalk in front of the clubhouse, observed bullet holes in the front door and identified apparent bullet damage inside the entryway. After investigators tracked activity to a Forbes address, officers arrested Gunderson; Mesabi Tribune reported her hair and clothing matched the suspect in the video and that officers found a backpack in her room containing a 9mm handgun, multiple magazines and rounds of ammunition.
The criminal complaint quoted in local reporting attributes post-arrest statements to Gunderson, including an expletive-laced remark about the Hells Angels and an admission that “my gun is in my backpack.” The complaint also states Gunderson is prohibited from possessing firearms based on prior convictions, describing a prior conviction for a crime of violence and a third-degree controlled substance conviction.
Under the plea agreement described in the St. Louis County release, Gunderson may ask the court to depart from Minnesota sentencing guidelines. The county quoted the agreement as saying it “allows Ms. Gunderson to argue for a departure from the Minnesota sentencing guidelines, which, given her apparent criminal history, presume a prison sentence of at least 50 months. The State intends to argue for the maximum sentence allowed under the terms of the agreement.” Some regional reporting noted a differing statement that she “faces up to four years in prison,” a numerical discrepancy compared with the 50-month guideline reference.
Sentencing is scheduled for May 4, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. in St. Louis County District Court.
