Farm Bureau Gives $1,000 to Red Raiders FFA at Pau Hana Market
Kauai County Farm Bureau President Lauri Ho presented $1,000 at Pau Hana Market to Kauai High School CTE teacher Christina Martiney to help 11 FFA students attend the Hawaii State Convention.

Kauai County Farm Bureau President Lauri Ho, joined by other Farm Bureau officers, Pau Hana Market staff and the children of the late Sandi Kato‑Klutke, presented a $1,000 contribution to Kauai High School Career Technical Education teacher Christina Martiney and her FFA students at the Pau Hana Market at Kukui Grove Center on Monday, Feb. 23, 2026, to help 11 students attend the Hawaii State Convention in Kailua‑Kona.
The Pau Hana Market at Kukui Grove Center was relaunched in partnership with the Kauai County Farm Bureau as a weekly Monday market in the mall’s south or back parking lot. Market listings show a 3:00 p.m. start time; some listings report a 5:00 p.m. close while others list 5:30 p.m. The market’s location is described variously as near Times Supermarket and as fronting Da Warehouse and across from Costco on Kalepa Road, but all sources place it in the Kukui Grove south parking area.
Martiney, identified as a Kauai High School CTE teacher, said 13 students originally wanted to go to the state convention and two dropped out because of the high costs, leaving 11 students who the $1,000 gift is intended to help. Those who want to donate to Kauai High School FFA can send contributions to Kauai High School FFA, 3577 Lala Road, Lihue, HI 96766.
Organizers position the Monday Pau Hana Market as a value‑added farmers market for Kauai Grown products with proceeds supporting local producers. Kauai County Farm Bureau states, "Proceeds will support our Kauai farmers." The market offers farm fresh produce, fruits and flowers, and value‑added Kauai Grown food products, and includes an open‑air food court and live music from Cruz Control, creating an after‑school and after‑work pickup option for shoppers.

Vendors at the market come from across the island, with stallholders described as ranging "from Kekaha to Hanalei." The Farm Bureau also runs a Kauai Culinary Market on Wednesdays in partnership with The Shops at Kukuiula, beginning at 3:30 p.m., and lists a downloadable Monday Pau Hana Market vendor application on its website for prospective sellers.
The Farm Bureau’s Spirit of Giving program ties market visits to food security efforts with four donation Mondays listed for Nov. 27, Dec. 4, Dec. 11 and Dec. 18; donors are asked to bring canned food items and receive a $1 coupon valid the day of receipt while supplies last. That campaign, the weekly markets and the $1,000 contribution to Kauai High School FFA signal an effort to route market proceeds and community fundraising into both island agriculture and student opportunities, even as costs for student travel remain a limiting factor for some participants.
