Farmington Woman Emily Paige Lefever Charged With Sexual Penetration of 15-Year-Old Boy
Emily Paige Lefever, 37, was booked Feb. 18 on a fourth-degree felony for allegedly having sex with a 15-year-old boy at her south Farmington home, court records say.
Farmington woman Emily Paige Lefever, 37, was booked Feb. 18 and charged with one count of fourth-degree felony criminal sexual penetration of a child, an arrest affidavit and court records say. The affidavit alleges the victim was a 15-year-old boy and that sexual contact occurred at Lefever’s home in south Farmington.
The affidavit states Lefever “had a relationship with the boy from from June 1 to Sept. 11, 2024,” and includes an allegation that the boy “bet with a friend on who could sleep with her first.” The juvenile told investigators he went to Lefever’s home and “allegedly engaged in sexual relations with Lefever until she told him she needed to pick up her children from school,” the affidavit says. The boy also told police he told Lefever more than once that he was “only 15.”
Farmington police opened the investigation Dec. 30, 2025, after the victim’s sibling disclosed the information to a counselor, who informed the boy’s mother, court records show. The mother reported the allegation to police, and investigators interviewed Lefever on Jan. 30. During that interview Lefever “admitted knowing the boy and said he was friends with her 15-year-old daughter but denied having sexual relations with him,” the affidavit reports.
Lefever submitted to a polygraph at the Farmington Police Department on Feb. 12. According to the affidavit, investigators asked her if she had sex with the boy and if she engaged in “sexual contact” with him. Lefever “responded by answering ‘no’ to all relevant questions, and maintained her innocence,” the affidavit says. After investigators told her the “results clearly indicated deception,” the document states she “began to cry,” and then admitted the 15-year-old “asked her to have sex” and that “previous sexual trauma” led her to agree.
Per the affidavit, Lefever told investigators the encounter lasted about “30 seconds” and she stopped because the whole situation “felt awkward, and not natural.” She was booked into the San Juan County Detention Center on Feb. 18 and released the next day to Pretrial Services supervision, court records show. Magistrate Judge Stanley King issued a no-contact order Feb. 19 instructing Lefever to stay away from the alleged victim.
The charge alleges sexual contact with a person under New Mexico’s age of consent, which is 16. The single-count charge of fourth-degree felony criminal sexual penetration of a child is pending in San Juan County; court records list the current conditions of Lefever’s pretrial release and the Feb. 19 no-contact order.
Recent prosecutions in the region cited in court and public records underscore heightened local attention to alleged sexual misconduct involving minors, including the prosecution and sentencing of a former Farmington High School basketball coach and the earlier arrest and eventual guilty plea in an unrelated case involving a former teacher’s aide. The Lefever matter remains subject to ongoing court proceedings and the protections afforded to juvenile victims in criminal cases.
