Five Injured After Suzuki Motorcycle, Ford Flex Collide at 24th and Pacific
Five people were injured after a Suzuki motorcycle collided with a Ford Flex at 24th Street and Pacific Avenue; the motorcyclist was flown to a Phoenix-area hospital.

A collision at 24th Street and Pacific Avenue left five people injured Saturday night, Yuma Police Department investigators said. The crash occurred at around 7:45 p.m. and shut the intersection as emergency crews responded.
A 20-year-old man riding a Suzuki motorcycle was traveling southbound on Pacific Avenue when the motorcycle struck a Ford Flex that was driven by a 23-year-old woman. The Ford Flex was “making a left-hand turn onto 24th Street” after driving northbound on Pacific Avenue when the collision happened. The motorcyclist “was taken to Onvida Health, but was flown to a Phoenix area hospital in serious condition,” officials reported. The Ford driver and three adult passengers were taken to Onvida Health with minor injuries.
Yuma Police Department investigators said the speed of the Suzuki “appears to be a factor in the crash,” and they described the investigation as ongoing. The intersection was closed while first responders secured the scene; an Instagram post advised motorists that “ROAD CLOSURE: The intersection at Pacific Avenue and 24th Street is completely closed due to a serious accident. Please avoid the area.”
The crash tightened traffic on a busy cross-street in central Yuma and prompted a visible emergency response, including medical transport by air for the motorcyclist. Residents who live or work near 24th and Pacific should expect potential follow-up road work or renewed traffic enforcement as the investigation proceeds.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Yuma Police Department at (928) 783-4421 or the anonymous tip line at 78-CRIME - (928) 782-7463. Investigators have not released names of those injured, the Phoenix-area hospital receiving the motorcyclist, or any citation information; those details remain unconfirmed while police complete their work.
This crash is separate from an unrelated crash earlier in the month on 24th Street and Olivia Avenue, where a Yuma Police Department officer and two others sustained minor injuries and did not require further hospital treatment. That incident occurred on Feb. 5 and involved a Jeep SUV striking a YPD vehicle; authorities treating each event have described them as distinct.
For Yuma drivers and motorcyclists, the immediate takeaway is to exercise caution at intersections, particularly when one vehicle is making a left turn and another is traveling at speed. Expect updates from Yuma Police Department as investigators release further findings and any potential safety or enforcement actions that follow.
