Florida Woman Charged With Attempted Murder for Shooting at Rihanna's Beverly Hills Home
Ivanna Lisette Ortiz, 35, faces attempted murder charges after firing roughly 10 rounds at Rihanna's home while the pop star and family were inside.

A 35-year-old Florida woman faces attempted murder charges after police say she pulled up to Rihanna's Beverly Hills home on March 8 and opened fire while the pop star, her husband A$AP Rocky, and their family were inside, prosecutors say.
Ivanna Lisette Ortiz, of Orlando, allegedly drove a white Tesla to the couple's residence and fired approximately 10 shots toward the house before fleeing the scene. LAPD radio dispatch audio, reviewed by the Los Angeles Times, captured the shooter's estimated round count. Officers responded to a 911 call around 1:21 p.m. and, with the help of a police helicopter, tracked the white Tesla to a shopping center parking lot in Sherman Oaks, where Ortiz was arrested roughly 30 minutes after the initial call.
The physical toll on the property was significant. Photos and video posted online showed multiple bullet holes in the front driveway gate. Police also found bullet holes in an RV parked in the driveway, and one round penetrated a wall of the home itself. No injuries were reported.
When officers searched Ortiz's vehicle, LAPD spokesperson Armen Arias confirmed they found an assault rifle and seven shell casings. Multiple reports identified the weapon as an AR-15-style rifle, though LAPD initially declined to confirm the specific model. Ortiz was booked on attempted murder charges and is being held on a bond of $10,225,000. Authorities identified her as the shooter on March 10.
"This is an active LAPD Robbery Homicide Division investigation," the department said in a statement.
The case underscores a persistent and alarming pattern of dangerous incidents targeting high-profile entertainers at their private residences, an issue that has drawn increasing attention from both law enforcement and the broader entertainment industry. Beverly Hills and surrounding neighborhoods have long been considered secure enclaves for celebrities, but the brazenness of a midday attack using a high-capacity weapon raises serious questions about the limits of residential security for public figures.

It remains unclear what motivated the attack. Florida Today reported that it was not immediately known when Ortiz had traveled from Orlando to California, and no motive has been publicly disclosed by investigators.
Rihanna, born Robyn Fenty, is among the world's best-selling music artists and the founder of the Fenty beauty and fashion empire. She and rapper A$AP Rocky, whose legal name is Rakim Mayers, have two children together. Representatives for the couple had not issued a public statement at the time of this report.
The LAPD's Robbery Homicide Division, which typically handles high-profile and complex felony cases in Los Angeles, is leading the investigation. The precise charges filed against Ortiz, including whether prosecutors have added felony enhancements beyond the attempted murder count, were not fully detailed in court records available at press time.
With an assault rifle recovered, seven casings documented, bullet holes across the gate, driveway, and interior wall of the home, and the family confirmed inside by prosecutors, the case presents a formidable evidentiary foundation as it moves toward trial.
