FM 624 Head-on Crash Kills One, Injures Three in Jim Wells County
One killed, three injured when a Ford F-150 crossed lanes and struck a Dodge Ram on FM 624 about 0.3 miles east of County Road 163, troopers say.

A head-on collision on Farm-to-Market Road 624 in Jim Wells County about 8:48 a.m. Friday, Feb. 27, 2026, killed one person and injured three after a 2019 Ford F-150 crossed into the eastbound lane and struck a 2020 Dodge Ram, according to the Texas Highway Patrol as reported by KRIS 6 News. The passenger of the Ram, identified as Rolando Adame, 72, of Corpus Christi, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators reported the crash occurred about 0.3 miles east of County Road 163 on FM 624. The Dodge Ram rolled onto its side off the roadway, and “both occupants of the Dodge Ram were trapped inside the vehicle and required extrication,” the Highway Patrol statement said. Emergency crews freed the trapped occupants before ambulances moved victims to area hospitals.
The male driver and a female passenger in the Ford F-150 were transported to Christus Spohn in Alice for treatment. The driver of the Dodge Ram was taken to Christus Spohn Shoreline in Corpus Christi, officials said. The Highway Patrol account lists the specific vehicle models and the hospital destinations but does not identify the Ford occupants by name.
Troopers from the Highway Patrol office in George West are investigating the collision and relayed the initial scene findings to KRIS 6 News. “According to investigators, a 2019 Ford F-150 was traveling west on FM 624 when it crossed into the eastbound lane and struck a 2020 Dodge Ram head-on,” the statement said. At the time of the press release, investigators had not released details on impairment, citations, or whether charges will be filed.

A secondary online account from the law firm GoudarziYoungLaw describes the crash differently, saying in part: “According to reports provided by the Texas Department of Public Safety, a black Ford F150 pickup truck was traveling east on Farm to Market Road 624 when it became involved in a head-on collision with a Volvo truck tractor semi-trailer.” That account also alleges the Ford burst into flames near U.S. Highway 282 and names the Ford driver as fatally injured; those details conflict with the Highway Patrol description that identifies a Dodge Ram passenger, Rolando Adame, as the fatality.
Journalists have asked the Texas Department of Public Safety and the law firm to clarify the discrepancy between the accounts and to provide the official DPS crash report and any coroner confirmation. Troopers from the George West office remain the investigating entity, and officials have said they will release additional findings as the investigation and any forensic testing proceed.
