Gardner White to Open Nine New Stores Including Traverse City This Spring
Gardner White will open a 63,400 sq. ft. store at 1775 Oak Hollow Dr in Traverse City this spring as part of a nine-store expansion that will bring the chain to 30 locations.

Traverse City shoppers will see a Gardner White at 1775 Oak Hollow Dr, a 63,400 sq. ft. location slated to open this spring as part of a nine-store expansion that increases the retailer’s footprint to 30 stores. The company announced the multi-market growth in a PR release that lists Traverse City among western and northern Michigan targets.
The expansion spans Lansing, Grand Rapids and other Michigan markets and marks Gardner White’s push into Ohio. Company materials position Gardner White as “Michigan’s #1 furniture and mattress retailer” and describe the move as extending the brand into the greater Toledo area with a Holland, Ohio location. Furninfo reported that store openings will begin this spring, with individual grand opening announcements to follow.

Novi will see two simultaneous changes: Gardner White plans a new, full-format store at 27775 Novi Road sized at 102,600 sq. ft., while the company’s existing Novi site at 43825 W. Oaks Drive will be converted into Gardner White’s first outlet location. Furninfo and the PR release say the outlet will feature regularly refreshed inventory, including floor samples and discontinued products from national brands, and described it as “a dedicated destination for everyday value.”
Gardner White provided exact addresses and square-foot figures for each new store. The nine new locations are Lansing at 8748 W. Saginaw Hwy, Lansing, MI 48917 — 109,297 sq. ft.; Novi (new store) at 27775 Novi Road, Novi, MI 48377 — 102,600 sq. ft.; Holland, Ohio at 1301 E. Mall Drive, Holland, OH 43528 — 91,381 sq. ft.; Grand Rapids at 4375 28th Street SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49512 — 79,742 sq. ft.; Chesterfield at 50400 Gratiot Ave, Chesterfield, MI 48051 — 73,151 sq. ft.; Clinton Township at 33801 S. Gratiot Ave, Clinton Township, MI 48035 — 69,260 sq. ft.; Traverse City at 1775 Oak Hollow Dr, Traverse City, MI 49686 — 63,400 sq. ft.; Flint at 4577 Miller Road, Flint, MI 48507 — 56,578 sq. ft.; and Portage at 550 Ring Road, Portage, MI 49024 — 50,686 sq. ft. The PR materials present identical addresses and square-foot figures across outlets that republished the release.
Rachel Stewart, CEO of Gardner White, framed the expansion in Furninfo as part of the company’s long history: “For more than a century, Gardner White has grown alongside the communities we serve. These new store locations allow us to reach more families and bring our style, value, award-winning service, and signature same-day delivery to even more homes. This expansion reflects our belief in our state and region's long-term economic strength.” Furninfo ran the item under the header “Over 156 Years of Service to the Furniture Industry.”
The announcement follows recent company activity: Gardner White opened a standalone mattress store in Woodhaven in January 2026 and added seven brick-and-mortar locations in 2025 while debuting the GW HOME concept in Detroit. The PR release dated Feb. 9, 2026 was republished by multiple outlets; Furninfo published coverage on Feb. 10, 2026. An earlier fragmented report had said “late February,” a timing that conflicts with the Feb. 9 PR dateline.
Operational details beyond addresses and square footage remain limited. Furninfo states that store openings will begin this spring, with individual grand opening announcements to follow. The company’s PR material also says Gardner White is “committed to investing in people, places, and partnerships and is deeply dedicated to supporting local communities while driving sustainable, long-term growth.” Local officials and job-seekers should expect hiring and permitting details to be released ahead of each grand opening.
