Gatesville Exchange Club Seeks Nominations for 2026 Book of Golden Deeds
The Gatesville Exchange Club is accepting nominations for its 2026 Book of Golden Deeds; residents are urged to submit nominations by March 31, 2026 via form or email josugg@embarqmail.com.

The Gatesville Exchange Club announced it is accepting nominations for its 2026 Book of Golden Deeds awards, urging residents to submit nominations by March 31, 2026. The announcement appeared on the Gatesville Messenger site around Feb. 27–28, 2026 as a submitted community item and lists online and paper submission options, including email at josugg@embarqmail.com.
The club calls the Book of Golden Deeds its most prestigious and longest running project. According to the Exchange Club wording, “The Book of Golden Deeds Award, recognizes dedicated volunteers who, over several years have given endless hours of their time and talents toward making their communities better places to live.” The club intends to present the awards at its Golden Deeds Banquet in April 2026; ClubExpress lists the presentation as “on Monday, April 2026” but provides no numeric banquet date.
The Exchange Club is also accepting nominations for several other awards with specific criteria posted on the ClubExpress page. The Proudly We Hail award goes to someone who “has consistently and regularly flown the American flag properly at their home or business during the past year (or years).” The Senior Citizen award description reads in full: “Many older Americans are still vital, contributing members of society, who deserve to be properly recognized for their achievements. A special award of some kind, presented to a senior who has performed an outstanding service to the community or excelled in some way, can serve to not only honor and reward that individual, but also to heighten community awareness and appreciation of the many important contributions of older citizens.” The Health Professional award recognizes a healthcare worker who “has performed their job with exceptional dedication and compassion.” The CARE Award is defined as going to someone who has “contributed to the care enrichment of services to children in the community.”

Submission instructions on the ClubExpress page state nominators may fill out an online form or download and print a form, and printed forms may be turned in to any board member. The page shows a form label reading “Nomination Form 2023” and includes UI fragments such as “new header banner v2” and “Loading… ClubExpress.” ClubExpress also states nominations must be received “by March 2026,” a less specific deadline than the March 31, 2026 date given in the Messenger item.
The GateMessenger post is subscriber-only on the Gatesville Messenger site; the newspaper’s footer lists contact details at 116 S. 6th St., Gatesville, TX 76528, phone 1-254-865-5212 and webmaster@gatesvillemessenger.com. Residents who plan to nominate should use the online or printed form and the email josugg@embarqmail.com for submissions and inquiries, and note that award presentations are scheduled for the club’s April 2026 banquet.
