Gatesville Man Benny Larry Jasper Sr. Arrested in Alleged Child Sexual Assaults
The Coryell County Sheriff’s Office says Gatesville resident Benny Larry Jasper Sr. was taken into custody March 3 and charged with sexual assault of a child spanning Jan. 2020 to Dec. 2025.

The Coryell County Sheriff’s Office announced that Gatesville man Benny Larry Jasper Sr. was taken into custody March 3 and formally charged with sexual assault of a child, the sheriff’s office said in a statement obtained by local reporters. KWTX identified Jasper by name and listed his age as 68; one regional report cited 69. The arrest followed an investigation into alleged assaults over a period stretching from January 2020 through December 2025.
An arrest warrant affidavit obtained by KWTX lays out detailed allegations, saying Jasper “used multiple sex toys to rape the girl” and “repeatedly showed [the victim] an online video, possibly a snuff film, prior to the sexual assaults as a form of coercion.” The affidavit further alleges the final assault occurred when Jasper took the victim to a cemetery near his home and raped her. Investigators told reporters the girl made an outcry to her mother after that incident and had kept a journal documenting the assaults.
Sheriff Scott Williams and the Coryell County Sheriff’s Office released a written statement emphasizing the priority of the investigation. “This case is of the utmost importance and reflects the continued commitment of Sheriff Scott Williams and the men and women of the Coryell County Sheriff’s Office to protecting the citizens of Coryell County,” the statement reads. The sheriff’s office added, “The Sheriff’s Office remains dedicated to thoroughly investigating crimes and holding accountable those who violate the safety, peace, and dignity of our community.”
KWTX’s report did not list a bond amount or the jail booking status for Jasper. Investigators are asking anyone with information about Jasper’s interactions with children in or outside the area to come forward as the inquiry continues, and law enforcement said they will release additional information as it becomes available.
It is not yet clear which specific penal statutes prosecutors will invoke in the case. Under Texas law, aggravated sexual assault of a child younger than 14 is a first-degree felony punishable by 25 to 99 years in prison; officials have not specified whether aggravated charges have been filed in this matter. Authorities say the investigation is ongoing and additional information will be released as it becomes available.
