Gov. commission seeks Lewisburg women's input during statewide listening tour
Lewisburg will host the Governor’s Advisory Commission on Women on May 29 at 255 Reitz Boulevard to feed the 2026 State of the Women Report; the statewide survey closes May 30.

Lewisburg will host a regional stop of the Governor’s Advisory Commission on Women on May 29 at 255 Reitz Boulevard as part of a statewide listening tour that will help populate the 2026 State of the Women Report, and the commission’s digital survey remains open through May 30. The Lewisburg session is one of 13 stops listed by officials and is billed as a chance for local women to shape data-driven policy recommendations.
WKOK reported the scope of the effort, saying, “The Governor’s Advisory Commission on Women has launched a statewide survey to gather experiences and priorities from women across Pennsylvania, and Lewisburg was named as a regional stop for the accompanying listening tour.” WKOK also noted the report’s intent to “examine progress women have made over the past 60 years and identify gaps that still exist.”
The digital survey is available in English, Spanish, and Chinese and, officials said, is open through May 30. Eventbrite materials state, “All women over the age of 13 are also encouraged to participate in the digital survey:” the survey is hosted on SurveyMonkey at the path r/stateofthewoman. Organizers, represented in the Eventbrite listing, said the aim is to collect lived experiences to inform policy: “The Governor's Advisory Commission on Women invites PA women to share real experiences to inform policy and progress statewide.”
Lewisburg attendees can register through Eventbrite for the listing titled State of the Woman Listening Tour Northeast: Lewisburg. The Eventbrite listing provides the address 255 Reitz Boulevard, Lewisburg, PA 17837 and sets accessibility expectations: a children’s activity table will be available so participants “do not need to arrange childcare in order to attend,” light food and beverages will be provided, and “Attendees who need an accommodation should email women@pa.gov.”
Organizers frame the tour as broad and nonpartisan. Eventbrite states, “This is an inclusive and bipartisan effort to ensure women from every background, community, and region are heard. Voices from rural, suburban, and urban areas will help shape data-driven recommendations to guide future policy and progress.” Event materials also describe the State of the Woman Report as “the first comprehensive report on the status of women in Pennsylvania in more than two decades.”
Officials published a statewide schedule of sessions that includes Capitol Region/Harrisburg, March 25; Philadelphia, March 19; Altoon, April 2; Lebanon, April 17; Montgomery and Bucks counties, April 18, virtually (statewide), May 1; Erie, May 11; Erie, May 12; Kane, May 13; Pittsburgh, May 14; Wilkes-Barre, May 28; Lewisburg, May 29 and Honesday, May 30. Responses gathered in Lewisburg and online will contribute to the 2026 State of the Women Report; Eventbrite framed the listening sessions as decisive for the report, writing, “These conversations will directly inform the State of the Woman Report - the first comprehensive report on the status of women in Pennsylvania in more than two decades.” Residents who plan to attend should register via Eventbrite and may request accommodations by emailing women@pa.gov.
